Join our Offshore Team

The Multi‑Skilled Production Operator (MSPO) is a key role within the offshore operations team. This position is held by an experienced operations technician who leads the outside production team, helping to enhance core operational skills, knowledge, and experience across the group. The MSPO also provides recognised relief cover for senior operational roles on the asset, such as the Control Room Operator (CRO) and Area Authority (AA).

Key Activities:

  • Promote full compliance with company standards, fostering a strong “Incident Free” mindset and behaviours through effective engagement and role modelling.
  • Support a working environment that prioritizes health, safety, and environmental protection while maintaining a high level of asset integrity.
  • Build strong, collaborative working relationships with other departments, teams, and vendors, demonstrating mutual respect and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient workplace.
  • Contribute directly to daily operational activities involved in running a large-scale offshore oil and gas production installation as an integral part of a multi-skilled team.
  • Actively participate in the electronic Permit to Work system, ensuring a safe working environment and minimizing production downtime wherever possible.
  • In an emergency, carry out operational responsibilities safely and effectively in accordance with the Platform Emergency Response procedures, under the direction of the Emergency Response Team (ERT), and maintain the required training for emergency duties.
  • Commit to the Competence Assurance process and undertake all required training and assessments, progressing toward senior operator competencies in either the CRO or AA role.
  • Conduct sampling and analysis at the required frequencies, ensuring all activities are completed in full compliance with company procedures.
  • Perform metering technician routines as required, ensuring all standards are consistently met and maintained.

Profil du candidat

  • N/SVQ Level 3 in Processing Operations (Hydrocarbons) or an equivalent qualification.
  • Strong working knowledge of platform systems, operational processes, and key operating parameters.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to engage personnel at all levels, and to direct, coordinate, and organise the work of production and maintenance teams.
  • Excellent logical and analytical problem‑solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound, rational judgement in decision‑making.
  • Solid understanding and consistent demonstration of Safe Working Practices.
  • Experience in offshore operations, including dry tree systems and centrifugal gas compression.
  • Experience interfacing with or understanding Drilling and Intervention operations.
  • Competence in maintenance scheduling, planning, coordination, and control/monitoring of work, along with knowledge of production technical standards, processes, and relevant legislation.
  • Demonstrated experience in the administration and use of Safe Systems of Work (PTW), including permit‑to‑work processes.
  • Competent in the design, application, and verification of process isolations in line with the TEPUK standard.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Broad operational background, ideally within the Offshore Oil and Gas industry, although experience in Petrochemical or Refinery environments is also relevant.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader role, or clear potential to progress into such a position, is highly desirable.
  • Previous exposure as a Permit Authority and/or experience in Control Room operations, or the potential to develop into senior operational roles (e.g., CRO or Area Authority), is highly desirable.
  • Completion of a structured training programme with recognised qualifications (such as an NVQ in a relevant discipline), preferably from an approved training body (e.g., OPITO).
  • Possession of a relevant trade core skill (e.g., electrical, instrumentation/control, mechanical, or process operations) and proven ability to conduct first‑line maintenance is highly desirable.

This role is offshore rotational.  Its offered on a Fixed Term Contract basis of 2 years.  Must have Right to Work UK.
