Contexte et environnement

You will be working within the TotalEnergies affiliate in Maputo, Mozambique, as part of the Geosciences & Reservoir (GSR) team responsible for the subsurface development and resource management of approximately 65 Tcf of recoverable natural gas to be developed through multiple phased projects. A Final Investment Decision (FID) was taken in 2019 for the first LNG development—a 13 MTPA, USD 20 billion project—marking a major step in the company’s ambition to expand its global LNG business. In this role, you will also contribute to future upstream developments, supporting long‑term growth and sustainable resource optimization.

Activités

  • Assist the reservoir engineering team in implementing, monitoring, and continuously updating reservoir development, surveillance, and management plans
  • Work closely with geologists and geophysicists to advance reservoir understanding, improve characterization, and strengthen integrated subsurface interpretations
  • Participate in the company’s recurrent annual reserves exercise and contribute technical inputs to the Long-Term Plan
  • Update, maintain, and optimize wellbore and reservoir models, including executing dynamic simulation runs to evaluate scenarios and optimize future depletion strategies
  • Monitor reservoir and well performance, identify optimization opportunities, and support decisions related to well interventions and field development
  • Liaise with multidisciplinary departments—including drilling, operations, production, planning, and facilities—to improve overall field management and asset performance
  • Prepare clear, high-quality technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for internal and external stakeholders
  • Support reserves evaluation, field development planning, and operational activities as required

Profil du candidat

  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in reservoir engineering or a similar technical role
  • General reservoir engineering experience including:
    • Field surveillance
    • Reservoir simulation
    • Operational exposure
  • Knowledge of reservoir geology, geophysics, and integrated subsurface workflows (an advantage)
  • Exceptional analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and data quality
  • Solid understanding of industry regulations, standards, and best practices
