Contexte et environnement

The Financial Analyst plays a key role in supporting financial operations, compliance, and strategic planning across the Americas division. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining tax and regulatory compliance, optimizing cost center performance, and supporting procurement and expense management activities. The analyst collaborates closely with treasury, accounting, operations, HR, and external partners to uphold financial integrity and drive operational efficiency across the organization.

The incumbent will collaborate closely with the Lubricants management and operations teams based in Linden, NJ. Success in this role requires strong discipline, self-motivation, and the ability to operate effectively with limited daily interaction with the manager and finance team colleagues. The position demands a solid understanding of reporting, financial control methodologies, and related systems. The incumbent must also be able to quickly develop in-depth knowledge of the company’s commercial activities, logistics operations, marketing initiatives, and information systems to meet the responsibilities outlined above. This role requires the ability to deliver high-quality business insights while maintaining objective, independent analysis of financial performance.

Activités

  • Prepare key financial reports, including production reports, overhead allocations, segment P&L, marketing tracker data, and logistics analyses. 
  • Manage and update monthly COPA entries for MAMBO compliance, including turnover, COGS, COS, VC, and intercompany adjustments. 
  • Prepare and coordinate GST/HST/QST filings for the Canada Revenue Agency and Revenue Quebec. 
  • Liaise with external auditors and tax consultants to validate tax returns and manage accruals. 
  • Provide financial insights to support internal decision-making, external consulting needs, and regulatory compliance. 
  • Analyze rebates, accruals, and marketing expenditures to ensure alignment with budget targets. 
  • Lead cost center restructuring initiatives and reallocation cycles. 
  • Support CAPEX planning, budget amendments, and investment tracking; prepare materials for Capex Committee presentations. 
  • Monitor and coordinate FedEx, UPS, and AMEX BTA accounts to streamline processes and ensure timely invoice payments. 
  • Coordinate activities with the external financial Shared Service Center in Manila. 
  • Drive strategic ad hoc projects from conception to completion through cross-functional collaboration and data-driven analysis. 
  • Partner closely with executive teams to deliver reports, insights, and analytical findings.

Budget & Long-Term Plan 

  • Support data collection and preparation for TEMUSA’s annual budget process in alignment with AME and Group guidelines. 
  • Assist in developing the Long-Term Plan and budgets in collaboration with Lubricants business managers and the Manager of Budget & Reporting. 
  • Recommend corrective actions to address financial variances versus budget.

Project Management 

  • Lead and manage full project lifecycles, from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring, and closure. 
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure timely and successful project delivery. 
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and leadership through regular updates and reports. 
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to high-quality standards. 
  • Facilitate meetings, manage project documentation, and maintain alignment across all contributors.

Profil du candidat

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (or equivalent experience); MBA preferred. 
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial reporting; experience in the energy industry is an advantage. 
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex financial information. 
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving: Demonstrated critical-thinking ability to interpret financial data and address complex business challenges. 
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and thoroughness to ensure reliable financial reporting and informed decision-making. 
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams across the organization. 
  • Financial Reporting: Experience preparing, analyzing, and presenting financial reports to senior leadership. 
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Skilled in developing forecasts, analyzing variances, and supporting the annual budgeting process. 
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, macros) and strong PowerPoint capabilities. 
  • Systems Knowledge: SAP experience is a plus.
