About the Job 
The Risk Management and Insurance Analyst plays a key role in supporting insurance and risk management activities across TotalEnergies’ U.S. and Canadian affiliates and joint ventures, spanning all business segments (Exploration & Production, Renewables, Refining & Petrochemicals, Trading & Shipping).

This role operates in a highly dynamic environment requiring extensive coordination across affiliates, brokers, insurers, and internal stakeholders. The position involves intensive data collection, financial analysis, and alignment with accounting processes, including insurance budgeting, claims administration, and premium allocation.

The analyst must balance multiple priorities simultaneously, demonstrate strong analytical capabilities, and maintain a high level of accuracy while providing responsive support to internal clients and senior leadership.

About the Role:


Key Accountabilities

  • Deliver accurate and timely insurance support (budgeting, claims, and policy management) to all U.S. and Canadian affiliates and joint ventures
  • Ensure proper management of insurance programs and broker relationships
  • Provide reliable analysis and reporting to support decision-making by senior management


Insurance Program Management

  • Manage insurance policies and relationships with brokers (including liability, construction all-risk, and surety programs).
  • Review and provide guidance on insurance clauses in contracts.
  • Track and manage letters of credit related to insurance activities.
  • Act as a central coordination point for all insurance-related matters.


Budgeting & Financial Analysis

  • Develop and distribute annual insurance premium budgets to U.S. affiliates and Canadian subsidiaries.
  • Prepare insurance projections for the 5-year financial plan.
  • Allocate premiums and costs accurately across affiliates using established methodologies.
  • Produce regular reporting, including weekly Workers’ Compensation indemnity reports.


Claims & Operational Support

  • Coordinate claims reporting and assist with claims administration processes.
  • Process insurance-related invoices (premiums, claims, bonds) and ensure accurate allocation through financial systems (e.g., SAP).
  • Support reconciliation, internal audits, and financial alignment.


Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for affiliates on insurance matters, including:
    • Contract reviews
    • Claims reporting
    • Budget inquiries
    • General insurance questions
  • Respond to a high volume of certificate of insurance requests (500+ annually).
  • Collaborate with internal teams, brokers, insurers, and claim adjusters to ensure effective service delivery.


Data Management & Reporting

  • Collect, validate, and challenge exposure data from affiliates for renewals, actuarial studies, and allocations.
  • Maintain and update multiple datasets and reports, including Excel models and SAP outputs.
  • Conduct data analysis and research to resolve discrepancies.


Support to Leadership

  • Assist the Head of Risk Management & Insurance with renewals, analysis, and special projects.
  • Provide insights and explanations to senior management regarding insurance and financial outcomes.

Perfil do Candidato

Requirements & Qualifications:


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
    (e.g., corporate risk management, insurance broker, or brokerage environment)


Certifications

  • Associate in Risk Management (ARM) certification preferred, or demonstrated commitment to obtaining it


Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience with SAP required
  • Knowledge of Power BI or other data analytics tools preferred


Professional Skills

  • Strong understanding of insurance and risk management principles
  • Ability to interpret insurance policies and terms & conditions
  • High level of numerical and analytical aptitude
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
