Context & Environment

This internship takes place in the framework of a research project launched in 2024. This project consist of developping strategic tools for borehole image interpretation (BHI). One project objective consists of creating an automatic artefact removal on ultrasonic image type, using a labelised image database. A first iteration was done in 2025 assessing the capability and the interest of such tool. However with a limited input at the time being, it was not able to be used routinely.

Atividades

The intern will develop and test a deep learning segmentation approach on the borehole images. It will aim to automatically recognize the artefacts and remove them before continuing with the interpretation. The developed prototype will be tested on in-house wells. The intern will not have to do the labelisation himself, but may have to provide advices to the team in charge of it.
