Context & Environment

The Tilenga project is a green field project currently under construction in a relatively remote location in the west of Uganda, near Lake Albert. There are particularly sensitive environmental conditions associated with the location of the project, some of which lies within the Murchison Falls National Park and surrounding areas. •The production fluids are challenging, with heavy and waxy oils to be produced from (approximately) 400 wells, contained within 31 remote well pads. These production fluids will be treated in a Central Processing Facility, with 200,000bopd oil capacity and 650,000 bwpd produced water treatment capacity. Produced gas will be utilized for fuel gas, along with conversion of the surplus gas to LPG for local markets. The is no produced water discharge from the development, with reservoir pressure being maintained by produced water re-injection, supplemented by lake water abstraction when required to maintain volumes. A significant interconnecting pipeline network, with temperature preservation, will be utilized to connect all well pads to the Central Processing Facility. Oil export is via a feeder line connecting with the neighbouring Kingfisher field, then via the EACOP pipeline to the east coast of Africa. The scope of the role is relatively wide, with the jobholder required to develop their understanding across several disciplines, along with maintaining and evolving significant interfaces with other departments, taking into account the application of relevant Ugandan rules and regulations, administrative requirements and technical authorizations, as well as international codes for onshore plants. •The position is located in the TEPU offices in Kampala, Uganda, however it is expected that regular visits to the Tilenga field, in the western area of Uganda, are undertaken.
