Contexte et environnement

Ratawi Degassing Station is located onshore in a remote area 70 km west of Basra (Iraq) and was operated by BOC (Basra Oil Company) since the start-up in 2014. It is designed to process light oil 60 kbopd. TotalEnergies is operating Ratawi field and plans to increase the production first to 120kbopd, then to 210 kbopd in the coming years. The recent change of operator, the project phases complexity, and the significant production offer a challenging and motivating environment.

The Job holder respects the Compliance, Code of Conduct, Ethic Chart, HSE Chart and all procedures and rules of Affiliate and Group. 

The Treatment / Production Chemistry engineer: 

-    Supports the site on the Production Chemistry discipline (assistance for troubleshooting, …) 

-    Contributes to Project Technical Reviews (PTR), HAZID, HAZOP, OPERSAFE, audits and follow-up of all actions within his area of expertise

-    Participate to Risk Evaluation processes (Job Risk Assessment …) within his area of expertise

-    Works in close cooperation with Process and Well Performance Engineer to meet the production targets within the export specifications and optimize the oil quality, gas flaring and water disposal.    

-    Monitor process parameters to identify optimized operating conditions and advise operation team to launch necessary adjustments in conjunction with Process Engineer:  Chemical injections, interface settings and other operational parameters.

-    Constant communication with operation team to highlight unpredictable events as scale, separation issues to permit them to organize the mitigation measures. 

-    Provides monthly chemical injection target and monitors them

-    In depth collaboration with lab specialist: - Monitors and guarantee quality of the analytical laboratory performance: oil, water analysis.

-    Ensures proper handling and follow-up of the sample analysis

-    Coordinates the chemical stock management

-    Implements routine robust laboratory and chemical injections activities in coordination with other entities (New equipment start up, consumables purchase requests, reception, laboratory waste management etc.)

-    Implement appropriate Ratawi laboratory procedures, QAQC, sampling procedures, analyses timetable and lab reporting organization.

-    Close follow-up of laboratory data including LIMS software implementation 

-    Follow-up of laboratory equipment’s calibration and certification strategy

-    Ensure sampling points availabilities and propose modifications if necessary

-    Support site in daily/weekly/monthly reporting with LIMS tools.

-    Liaises with inspection to follow up corrosion risk and bacteria mapping, defines the injection rate of the corrosion inhibitor 

-    Participates to revamping of chemical injections (demulsifier, antifoam, water clarifier, corrosion inhibitor, biocide, water treatment) 

-    Participates to chemical field tests

-    Participates in updating the production chemistry and treatment reference documents

-    Follow up of online analyzer(s) and liaise with maintenance for the analyzer technical management / calibration. Propose additional online analyzers if of interest.

-    Promotes innovative methods and technologies

-    Estimates Operating Expenditure (OPEX) and follow-up treatment production chemicals consumption and laboratory reagents / consumables

-    Leads call for tenders and request for quotations related to chemicals / laboratory. Ensures high quality technical evaluations and follows-up contractual parts.


General

-    Ensures that all activities are conducted in respect of HSE Group standards and in accordance with the Iraqi regulations

-    Promotes Company’s HSE and quality policies, rules, procedures and programs; Implement actions in order to reach Company’s HSE objectives; Promote safety and environment awareness.

-    Gets new policies adopted in working concepts or best practices, brings progress to practices 

-    Conducts technical and operational analyses, audits and inspections 

-    Audits external entities and works studies, contractors

-    Maintain efficient and proactive interfaces with other entities, in particular: site, well performance, maintenance & inspection, headquarter (Onetech)


Accountabilities

In the fields of Treatment / Production Chemistry:

-    Ensure safe and efficient sampling and laboratory analysis with an environmental respect.

-    Ensure continuity and ramp-up of plant production chemicals injections

-    Ensure a good transverse communication with mainly operation and inspection team.

-    Ensure efficient technical support to the production site

-    Ensure high quality reporting

-    Validate scopes of work for modifications, improvements, debottlenecking, revamping within his area of expertise

-    Optimize and follow up the laboratory and chemicals OPEX



Profil du candidat

Qualifications/Experience required

-    Formal Education: Engineer or equivalent qualification 

-    Professional experience: 5 years experience minimum in Process Engineering & Production Chemistry, Field experience is an advantage, and strong skills in methods, reporting, and organization. 

-    Experienced in Laboratory, Expertise of chemical issue (deposit, separation etc…) is an advantage

-    Sound experience in managing database and reporting tools

-    Fluent in English is a must
