Contexte et environnement

The Process Safety & Asset Integrity Consultant operates within a matrix reporting environment, impacting various RPA sites and requiring close connections with branch, business unit, and LBU management. The individual must prioritize and plan tasks to meet strict deadlines. The role involves routine interactions with geographically dispersed colleagues using remote-working applications.


This position is located at the TotalEnergies Tower in Houston, Texas. 

Activités

Leadership & Program Management:

  • Oversee & coordinate PS&AI programs across multiple locations, ensuring compliance with legal & corporate standards.
  • Act as an internal consultant, supporting business units in process safety studies, risk assessments, and compliance efforts.
  • Facilitate corporate and local PS&AI programs, ensuring clear roles, responsibilities, and engagement from key stakeholders.

Process Safety Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with process safety regulations (e.g., PSM 29CFR 1910.119) through audits, reviews, and action plans.
  • Lead HAZOP/LOPA reviews, ensuring follow-up on risk mitigation actions.
  • Maintain and oversee Major Risk Mapping, driving improvement plans across local business units.
  • Serve as the primary process safety contact for regulatory, state, and corporate compliance audits.

Safety Management System Development & Implementation:

  • Develop and implement key process safety management system elements, including:
  • Management of Change (MOC)
  • Hazard identification and risk assessment programs
  • Process safety incident analysis and lessons learned (REX)
  • Accident investigation & reporting
  • Coordinate and lead safety committees, audits, and corporate safety initiatives.

Training, Audits & Continuous Improvement:

  • Organize and contribute to process safety training programs for business units.
  • Lead periodic process safety reviews, incident analyses, and compliance audits (e.g., insurance audits, RC Maestro Log).
  • Provide expertise in HSE evaluations for major turnarounds (TAs) and capital investment (CAPEX) projects.
  • Maintain an active network within corporate safety teams and industry peers to drive best practices.

Asset Integrity Manager:

  • Implement and integrate technical integrity requirements within the overall safety management system.
  • Identify, validate, and monitor Integrity Critical Equipment (ICE), ensuring effective performance standards and maintenance programs.
  • Oversee inspection, testing, and preventive maintenance (ITPM) scheduling to maintain operational integrity.
  • Investigate integrity-related incidents and anomalies, contributing to root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Lead and participate in internal audits and asset integrity reviews, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain an integrity dashboard to monitor performance and compliance across business units.
  • Promote awareness of asset integrity best practices through internal training and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Represent the company in corporate and industry asset integrity networks, contributing expertise and best practices.

Profil du candidat

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical)
  • 10+ years in refinery and/or petrochemical operational environment

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of operations, maintenance, and process safety in refining and petrochemical facilities.
  • Knowledgeable in US regulations and industry standards related to Asset Integrity, Process Safety Management, and Risk Management.
  • Familiar with TotalEnergies rules and guidelines related to Asset Integrity and Process Safety Management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication, organization, planning, and conflict resolution.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, negotiation skills, and influencing skills at all levels in the organization.
