Context and environment

You will work in the business unit “Oil, Bio & Shipping” of the IT department. Our domain of responsibility is the development, and the management of the information systems used by the front office, the middle office, the trading operations, and the shipping users in order to support them to achieve their objectives. Consequently, the ETRM (Energy Trading and Risk Management) system is part of our responsibility.

What you will do:

The aim of this research internship is to explore how artificial intelligence can be used to enhance software development. You will have access to advanced tools like Claude and Copilot to conduct your research. Areas of study may include:

• Analyze the existing situation: Work closely with all the OBS teams to audit the current processes (BA, development, QA, RPA, etc.) to identify strengths and gaps and to understand how each field can be improved.
• State-of-the-art study: Analyze the latest publications and trends in AI applied to software development and identify AI tools and frameworks relevant for each team objectives.
• Prototype development:It is a project with a wide spectrum where all ideas can be analyzed as for example:
  1. Code generation: Improve the way to feed AI prompt to improve code generation
  2. Quality analysis: Support the quality analysis by proposing relevant unit tests
  3. Preventive maintenance: Alert when code becomes obsolete, etc… 
  4. ...
• Evaluation and optimization: Use various AI solutions according to their specific features, potentially chaining them together. Aim to create end-to-end solutions with minimal human intervention (where no added value is provided by human action). 
• Documentation and reporting: Document each step of the research and the implementation. Present the results to the relevant teams and propose improvements.  Make recommendations for potential future implementations.

Your Profile 

• In the course of higher education in computer science (Master / School of Engineers) with a specialization in AI;
• You are dynamic, methodical, rigorous and curious; you like working as a team
• You have good communication skills;
• You are autonomous, and you have a particular appetite for activities around data and computer development.
• Knowledge of artificial intelligences tools such as ChatGPT, Claude and Copilot.
• Good development skills in Python and JS (other languages could be a nice to have);
• English essential. 
• A tri-partite internship agreement is mandatory
