TotalEnergies EP Malaysia is looking for a motivated Graduate Legal Counsel to join our Legal Division. This 2year structured graduate program offers handson exposure to energy sector regulations, commercial negotiations, legal advisory work, and corporate governance in a highly regulated environment.

Your Impact

As a Graduate Legal Counsel, you will support our legal operations and gain indepth experience across a broad spectrum of upstream activities. You will:

  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on legal documents and commercial contracts including PSCs, JOAs, procurement contracts, tender documents, and other upstreamrelated agreements.
  • Participate in tender exercises, including reviewing bidders’ exceptions, engaging in negotiations, and supporting contract finalisation.
  • Monitor, research, and interpret changes in Malaysian and international laws relevant to oil and gas operations, and evaluate their impact on TotalEnergies’ activities.
  • Support compliance with Malaysian legislation, PETRONAS directives, and TotalEnergies’ internal policies and procedures.
  • Support the development and implementation of ethics and compliance programs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Management, Procurement, Operations, Projects) and external parties (PETRONAS, regulators, JV partners).

Profil du candidat

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor of Law (LLB); admission to the Malaysian Bar is an advantage.
  • Strong interest in the energy sector, regulatory frameworks, and commercial contracting.
  • Excellent drafting, communication, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A proactive learner with strong ethical standards and professionalism.
  • Knowledge of the oil and gas industry is an advantage.
