Activités

Back Office is part of the Power Trading Support organisation, with multi locations mainly in Geneva, Houston, Paris and Madrid.

 

The jobholder works closely with the Originators, Traders, Operations, Middle Office, Energy Data Management, Legal & Compliance, Credit, Treasury, Trading Accounting and the IT teams.

As Back office analyst you will:

 

  • Ensure that accurate trading information is represented within our ‘in-house’ trading system (the BOOK) by confirming deals with counterparts and brokers on a daily basis.
  • Reconcile counterpart/TSO invoices against the system in liaison with the Operations, Middle Office and Energy Data Management departments to resolve discrepancies, mainly performing the calculation and validation of REE settlements and re-settlements: C2 (m+1), C3 (m+3), C4 (m+8) and C5 (m+11 and proceed with claims towards TSO.
  • Process all the invoices related to TGP Madrid office activities (except OMIE done in Geneva)   and associated services (payment approval in Geneva).Calculation of settlement information for billing customers of the services provided (CCGT, supply, market representation..), and invoices issuance to counterparts within industry or contractual deadlines and ensure that the payments instructions are submitted to finance in a timely manner to comply with contractual payment dates. 
  • Follow up and control of operation guarantees in the market (OMIE and REE).
  • Management and validation of settlements issued to the represented producers by the CNMC.
  • Presentation of documentation on behalf of the producers to the CNMC.
  • Annual submission of documentation to the CNMC (justification, fuel consumption …).
  • Manage a portfolio of internal & external counterparts (utilities, producers, ..), mainly customer support on settlement and invoicing activities.
  • Participate in the improvement of Back Office processes, propose systems improvements and assist in implementation with TGPG, from system testing and implementations to desk level process, ensure efficient coordination with Geneva office Back Office
  • Assist the Accounting team with accruals, aged debt reporting and resolution.

Profil du candidat

Academic Training and/or Years of Experience:

 

  • Master’s Degree Business Administration, Finance or equivalent.
  • 0-3 years of professional experience, Ideally with a first experience as back office in a utility or a power trading company and/or knowledge of power & renewable business in Spain.
  • Fluent Spanish and English. Valuable French


Technical and Behavioral Competencies:

 

  • A high level of engagement, reliability, and strong team player mentality 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a drive to improve processes and systems 
  • High degree of accuracy and efficiency under set deadlines in a pressurised environment   
  • Strong adaptability to change in a complex and changing environment.
  • Good IT skills (excel/VBA/Python/PBI)

  • Being able to work autonomously as well as part of a team is essential.
