Context & Environment

Within the One Tech Branch, a key pillar of the Company’s transformation, you will join the Offshore Solutions and Technology Research team within the Technologies entity. You will play a key role in steering research and technology activities related to electrical control systems and subsea production equipment.

Your expertise will directly contribute to validating innovative technology choices for complex and strategic projects.

This position can be based in Pau or in La Défense.

Activities

As a Senior Subsea Systems Research & Technology Engineer, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Leveraging in-depth expertise in subsea electrical systems, control systems (command, supervision, power distribution), and subsea production equipment to advise and propose robust solutions.
  • Leading the execution of Research & Technology projects (schedule, deliverables, budget, contractual requirements, and dissemination of results).
  • Defining and driving the technology qualification roadmap.
  • Organizing and managing the technology qualification process, and ensuring effective handover to operational entities.
  • Coordinating industrial pilot phases when required.
  • Acting as an internal interface for the deployment of new technologies into studies and projects.
  • Contributing to the annual budget preparation (N+1).
  • Collaborating with the ecosystem: IOC, NOC, suppliers, and research centers.
  • Assessing, qualifying, and supporting the industrialization of innovations.
  • Maintaining benchmarks (market trends, engineering practices, technologies).
  • Contributing to techno-economic studies aimed at reducing costs and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
  • Solving complex technical challenges with creativity and expertise.
  • Developing and maintaining a strong professional network (partners, competitors, suppliers).
  • Sharing knowledge (mentoring, training, documentation).
  • Contributing to subsea systems technology strategy and vision.
  • Improving internal methodologies and publishing technical work (conferences, articles).
  • Integrating HSE and operability requirements into innovations.
  • Ensuring high-quality technical reporting.
  • Ensuring compliance with costs, timelines, and contractual commitments.



Candidate Profile

You hold an engineering degree or a PhD and have at least 15 years of experience in subsea electrical systems, control systems, power distribution, and subsea equipment.

Your expertise is internationally recognized.

You demonstrate strong influencing, negotiation, and communication skills. You are autonomous and proactive.

You are fluent in English, both written and spoken.
