Atividades

The Director, Government Affairs is responsible, at the direction of the President & CEO, for executing on both the company’s Federal Government Affairs activities (notably International) and on Government Affairs and Policy issues strategy in support of TotalEnergies business interests. This includes furthering TotalEnergies' presence amongst Washington DC’s stakeholders (policy makers and opinion leaders, US government representatives, diplomatic missions, industry associations, think tanks, etc.) to help build positive awareness of TotalEnergies activities/positions. In this role you will: 


  • Understand the direction of US energy/climate and foreign policy in sensitive areas of particular interest to the Company and where it is critical to TotalEnergies business interests. 
  • Develop and manage relationships in support of TotalEnergies efforts to enhance its US and global businesses, notably in the Clean Power domain. 
  • Formulate policy positions in support of TotalEnergies business.
  • Identify emerging issues as they relate to TotalEnergies Corporate priorities.
  • Provide insights and analyses on Washington perspectives and developments of interest to TTE.
  • Execute on advocacy and strategies for US-based stakeholders.

Perfil do Candidato

TotalEnergies is seeking a Director, Government Affairs, to join its team in Washington, DC. We are seeking a senior Government Affairs professional who will be responsible for guiding the company’s Federal government affairs activities in specific areas and developing government affairs and policy issues strategy in support of TotalEnergies business interests.

Education/Experience:

  • Relevant undergraduate degree in U.S. Government and Public Affairs, Economics, or Business (required)
  • Advanced degree in U.S. Government and Public Affairs or Economics (preferred)
  • Previous experience in the energy industry

Skills:

  • Excellent oral, written, analytical, critical thinking, and presentation skills
  • Ability to synthesize and clearly communicate complex issues
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills to support organization-wide objectives
  • Deep understanding of the Washington, D.C. political and policy landscape
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Proven interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a small team environment
  • Foreign language proficiency is a plus
