Geologist activity is part of the Geoscience team within the SURINAME affiliate.

Critical axes:

•    New affiliate with new fields to be developed

•    2 Fields: 4 reservoirs

•    Very large development areas

•    Drilling 32 wells with 2 Rigs

•    WAG / GI / WI / OP wells 

2G&R entity is key to the successful execution of the greenfield GranMorgu project, involving the development of two fields, Sapakara and Krabdagu, with four reservoirs over water depths ranging from 100 to 1400 meters. The development plan includes gas re-injection scheme, complemented by Water/Gas injection WAG (Water Alternate Gas) scheme. Two drilling ships operating in parallel, drilling subsea wells, featuring complex lateral reservoir sections. First Oil is planned mid-2028. Innovative/new ideas will be required to realize development of contingent resources as tiebacks. Relationships with authorities, partners and stakeholders are key factors for the project success.

•    Geological and 2G and R synthesis:

• Ensure the preservation, consistency, and quality of all geological data and interpretations.
• Maintain continuous updates of data analyses and field synthesis, integrating the ongoing influx of new well results.

•    Work in collaboration with petrophysicists:

• Logs / Pressure/ quicklook interpretation
• Petrophysical synthesis.
• Transvers interaction within the 2G and R team to incorporate all new results, interpretations and the understating of the fields.

•    Well drilling follow up:

• Participation in the preparation of WSORs for upcoming wells.
• Provide direct geological follow-up during drilling campaigns.
• Serve as a contributor during landing and geosteering phases to ensure optimal well placement and reservoir productivity.
• Prepare rapid geological post mortem analyses from drilling.
• Contribute to the preparation of Final Geological Well Reports (FGWR).

•    Model Updates:

• Continuous update of existing 3D reservoir models.
• List and run uncertainties involved in the models: static and dynamic.
• Understand/Propose best adapted modelling workflow fit for purpose.
• Learn and promote TotalEnergies’ geological knowhow internally and externally.

Studies:

•    Degree requested: Level/Diploma/background: Engineer, Master or higher in geology / geosciences, PhD.

•    Professional Experience: 

• At least 2-5 years in Geology in Explo or Development.
• Understanding of the EP processes. 

•    Soft skills: 

• Strong ability to work in a cross functional environment.
• Good communication and multicultural skills, agility, curiosity, availability, team-spirit, commitment to deliver both operational and study activities, are required to be fully successful in this position
• Oral & written English mandatory (French or Spanish or Dutch highly appreciated).
