TotalEnergies EP Malaysia is looking for a hands‑on, technically strong, and safety‑driven Telecommunication Engineer to join our IT & Telecom team. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working across onshore and offshore environments, managing a wide range of communication technologies, and supporting safe and efficient operations in the energy sector.

Activiteiten

Your Impact

As the Telecommunication Engineer, you will ensure the availability, reliability, and cybersecurity of all telecom systems supporting our offshore and onshore operations. You will:

  • Implement and maintain telecom systems for offshore and onshore facilities.
  • Design secure telecom networks for OT environments, including SCADA, DCS, and PLC systems.
  • Establish network segmentation, firewalls, VLANs, and DMZs between IT and OT.
  • Execute preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and system health monitoring.
  • Maintain documentation, drawings, configuration backups, and spare parts readiness.
  • Provide technical support during shutdowns, upgrades, and emergency situations.
  • Coordinate procurement, repairs, and vendor performance for telecom systems.
  • Lead OT cybersecurity measures and serve as the Local Industrial Cyber Security Officer (L‑iCSO).
  • Manage cybersecurity risk assessments, compliance, audits, and incident response.
  • Ensure telecom systems comply with HSE requirements, hazardous‑area standards, and ERP readiness.

Profiel kandidaat

What We Are Looking For

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of telecom engineering experience in offshore/onshore oil and gas operations.
  • Expertise in networking equipment (Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, wireless).
  • Strong knowledge of radio systems, PA/GA, PABX/VOIP, and satellite systems (VSAT/LEO).
  • Deep understanding of OT cybersecurity standards and hazardous‑area certifications (IECEx, ATEX).
  • Familiarity with ICSS systems.
  • CCNA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Strong communication, problem‑solving, and project management skills.
