MMMCZCS is an independent research and development Center, located in Copenhagen that seeks to accelerate the transition to a net-zero future for the marine industry. TotalEnergies is one of the 24 strategic partners of the MMMCZCS since 2021.
As a biofuel pathways optimization engineer, the VIE will be attached to the Energy & Fuels team to participate in the Center's biofuels projects. The VIE will be supervised by one of our senior TotalEnergies specialists, seconded to the MMMCZCS.
Main missions :
- Support the MMMCZCS biofuels team in the transition to zero greenhouse gas emissions for shipping.
- Participate in the identification of processes related to the production of biofuels for maritime applications.
- Identify, qualify and quantify the resources required for the production of marine biofuels (availability, characteristics, distribution and cost).
- Identify, qualify and quantify potential barriers to the production of marine biofuels, and their associated challenges.
- Develop and update refinery optimization tools and models for the production of marine biofuels (bio-oils and biodiesels).
- Develop and update technical and economic study tools for co-process refineries and biorefineries.
- Support all MMMCZCS strategic partners and the various TotalEnergies divisions in understanding the technical, economic and competitive issues related to the production and use of biofuels for maritime transport.
- Analyze the results and use them to update the economic and roadmap models of MMMCZCS and TotalEnergies.
- Organize a weekly meeting with the MMMCZCS Biofuel team to present progress on the optimization of biofuel pathways for shipping.
- Work as part of an interdisciplinary and international team across the entire shipping value chain.
Context & Environment
The selected candidate will receive a VIE allowance according to the Business France rates.
To be eligible for this program, you must be between 18 and 28 and hold the nationality of one of the countries in the European Economic Area.
