TotalEnergies' entity, OneTech, brings together all the departments in charge of technical and R&D issues in support of the Company's Exploration & Production, Refining & Chemicals, Marketing & Services and Gas, Renewable Energies & Power Business Units.

With a workforce of 3,400, OneTech is divided into three poles: an industrial pole, which supports the company's development in the fields of hydrocarbons, renewable energies, electricity, and carbon emissions reduction. Activiteiten

OneTech is looking for an Electrolyser Engineer to join a team of 16 passionate engineers working on hybridization of power generation plants and assets as well as on mass production of Clean Hydrogen from renewables.

As an Electrolyser Engineer, you will contribute to the design, procurement, integration and operation of electrolysis units and will provide support to projects from early design up to operation stages for an optimum sizing and integration of Hydrogen production.

Your scope of intervention is as follows:

Project and Studies 

  • You are the specialist for electrolysis unit design as well as operation and technical topics related to key technology types (alkaline, Proton Echange Membrane, Solid Oxide Electrolysis Cell etc.), interacting with other technology experts (electricity, process, safety, etc.)
  • You perform, contribute to and/or supervise projects in various maturity phases, from prospect screening to installation/construction and commissioning of equipment/facilities/assets
  • You prepare scope of work and study requirements for sub-contractors to carry out detailed studies.
  • You supervise the activities of engineering contractors related to the design of electrolysis units, through document reviews/comments/approval, participation in meetings, interaction with suppliers, etc.
  • You write the technical and purchase specifications for Electrolysis Units and their integration including auxiliary services.
  • You perform audits, project reviews, assessment of potential opportunities You lead and/or participate to supplier and/or equipment audit and qualification process
  • As a team member, you support the other members and may supervise other Engineers and trainees.

Technical Know-How capitalisation

  • You actively participate to the development and maintenance of methodologies, sizing/optimization tools relevant to electrolysers including cost aspects, reliability and availability assessment, Energy Management System and their power supply from renewables.
  • You stay abreast with latest technology developments with full understanding of market trends, customer needs and major technology trends, and witness potential operations/ testing that could be performed.
  • You contribute to define the Technology Roadmap in close relationship with R&D. You innovate, develop and implement new technologies to fulfill the Company’s challenges (costs control, safety & integrity optimization, environmental footprint reduction)
  • You expand knowledge of global electrolysis suppliers, develop relationships, including through on-site visits at vendors’ sites.
  • You contribute to the preparation, writing, update and management of general technical specifications for Electrolysis system equipment and Energy Management Systems and their diffusion as well as promotion to final users.

Profiel kandidaat

  • You have a Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering or science with a minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience gained in design, construction, commissioning, and operation of electrolysis units.
  • A recent experience in renewable power energy systems is a plus.
  • You are fluent in English in order to be able to work in an interdisciplinary and international team.
