Context & Environment

To meet its ambitious objectives of energy transition towards electricity and renewable energies, the OneTech entity of TotalEnergies gather all the technical departments providing technical support to operations and R&D (Exploration & Production, Refining & Chemistry, Marketing & Services and Gas, Renewable Energy & Electricity). With a workforce of 3,400 people, OneTech is divided into three divisions: an industrial division supporting the company's development in gas, renewable energies, electricity and the reduction of carbon emissions; a research and development center bringing together all of TotalEnergies' research activities to anticipate the transformation of the company, giving priority to the low-carbon mix; and a support center (HR and finance).

By integrating all of the company's technical and R&D expertise within a single entity, OneTech becomes one of the pillars of the transformation of TotalEnergies into a multi-energy company.

Activiteiten

OneTech, a branch of TotalEnergies, is looking for a Senior Petroleum Geochemist M/F within the Geoscience & Reservoir Department who will contribute to exploration and reservoir geochemistry studies as well as new/transition energies related studies such as Carbon Storage or di-hydrogen exploration and storage. In addition, he/she will be participating in the evaluation of environmental risks during the decommissioning phase of wells.

As a Senior Petroleum Geochemist M/F with a strong knowledge in petroleum system analysis, you will be:

  • in charge of the planning, coordination and execution of organic geochemical studies in the context of exploration-related well, field and regional syntheses.
  • working in a cross-disciplinary environment also ensuring the integration of study results from various other geoscientific disciplines such as basin modelling and thermodynamic fluid evaluations.
  • leading or contributing to reservoir connectivity and production monitoring studies using geochemical fingerprinting techniques.
  • supporting studies related to carbon storage, new energies such as di-hydrogen and environmental studies such as the evaluation of well integrities.

Join our team at TotalEnergies’ headquarters as a Senior Petroleum Geochemist M/F, where you'll provide ad-hoc support and advice to our global subsidiaries and partner companies.

Working with us offers the opportunity to contribute to, suggest, plan, and execute R&D and innovation projects, particularly within the transition energies initiatives.

You'll develop and promote new methods, technologies, and tools for organic geochemical data in collaboration with vendors, academia, and internal resources.

Additionally, you'll write technical guidelines, participate as a lecturer in internal training courses, mentor interns and junior team members, and engage in internal and international seminars, preparing technical presentations and publications.

Profiel kandidaat

  • You hold a Master’s or PhD in Geology/Geoscience, Chemistry, or Reservoir Engineering.
  • You have a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in interpreting organic geochemical data, gained either in academia or the petroleum industry.
  • You possess a strong knowledge of petroleum systems analysis and organic geochemical characterization methods.
  • You are experienced in organic geochemical data acquisition techniques and in planning analytical programs.
  • You are capable of independently interpreting organic geochemical data and integrating them into a geological context.
  • Additionally, you are proficient in communicating and presenting in English, both orally and in writing.
