Context & Environment

  • The energy transition is partly based on the electrification of energy uses, which requires a massive increase in the supply of green electrons. TotalEnergies is deploying its goal to rank among the top five global producers of solar- and wind-generated electricity by 2030 across the entire renewable electricity value chain (production, storage, trading and sales). The goal is to reach 35 GW of gross capacity for renewable power in 2025, then 100 GW in 2030.
  • In April 2026, TotalEnergies and Masdar announced forming a 50/50 joint venture worth USD 2.2bn covering 9 Asian countries, including the Philippines. The joint venture will have 3 GW of operational assets from the start with another 9 GW in advanced development.

 

  • REN Business Unit:
  1. Total Renewables Business Unit is at the spearhead of the Company’s multi-energy and durable strategy
  2. It covers the development, construction, O&M, asset management and financing of renewable projects: large and small scale (distributed generation) solar, onshore and offshore wind, off-grid energy, storage
  3. Its strategic objective is to accumulate 35 GW by 2025, 100 GW of operational renewables by 2030 (end of April 2023 baseline: 18,2 GW), and become a worldwide leader, safe and innovative, in renewable energies

  • Projects Division:
  1. The Projects Division is central in REN’s onshore value chain and its growth and leadership strategy towards quality 100 GW
  2. As part of REN's new organization, the Projects division is dedicated to:
  3. Managing projects in the development phase, while contributing upstream to the maturation of opportunities harnessed by the Senior Business Development Manager.
  4. Overseeing the execution of post-NTP projects, both during construction and commissioning, and for supporting the handover to the Asset & Countries Division for the operation phase

 

Activiteiten

The Senior Business Development Manager is responsible for sourcing and maturing opportunities of renewable energy production in line with REN strategy until Financial Close:

  • Own the opportunity and the commercial relationships until NTP being the main Point of Contact for commercial discussions, clients and local partnerships
  • Supporting offtake the support of offtake manager 
  • Manage partners
  • Manage the Final Investment Decision process


The activities of the Business Development Division apply in all countries of interest for TotalEnergies GRP - except for France and USA - in the field of solar, onshore wind projects, and non-dispatchable hydro potentially combined with batteries storage solutions.

 

The Senior Business Development Manager acts in the service of the growth of TotalEnergies Renewables, in coordination with several internal stakeholders, by orchestrating the origination process, and by supporting Project Developers during the development phase until the start of construction. 

The Senior Business Development Manager interacts particularly with Structured Finance, Project Development, M&A, legal and Offtake and externally with authorities, clients and partners

 

General activities (greenfield, tender and acquisition)

  • Contributes to TotalEnergies reputation, and cultivates solid relationships with stakeholders across the targeted area in order to build long term relationship 
  • Participates in the design of the APAC business development strategy
  • Assist senior members of the team in originating, developing, advising managing and executing development renewable energy projects 
  • Assists key commercial negotiations (JDA, SHA, SPA) and conducts relevant evaluation and analysis required on deal structuring 
  • Prepare/ review project financial models
  • Deploys the partnership strategy, develops partnerships agreements to grow faster, manages the relationship with partners and co-development partners being the main Point of Contact for commercial discussions until transfer to construction
  • Assist in the structuring and negotiating of development agreements with co-developers, consultants, sub-contractors, & manages relationship with external stakeholders in coordination with the Project Developer 
  • Supports offtake discussions with the support of Offtake Manager if needed
  • Lead the preparation and coordinate of the development of the project/ tender deliverables in coordination with the Project developer and other internal stakeholders
  • Preparation of presentation materials to support investment decision making by her/his management for the dedicated governance committee 
  • Identifies acquisition and joint development opportunities, conducting relevant evaluation and analysis to determine if they should be pursued, and leading the management of the process through internal approvals
  • Assesses and matures opportunities’ characteristics on all aspects including grid, permits, administrative matters, technical, economic feasibility, offtake, risks & opportunities as applicable with internal support and external stakeholders.
  • Contributes together with Project Development to the presentation materials to support investment decision making by her/his management for the dedicated governance committee 

 

Other activities 

  • Leading and co-ordinating the analysis on: market, financing and macro-economic variables
  • Provides pipeline updates, progress megawatt updates, and other reporting requests on a timely basis as needed
  • Deploys processes, good practices and tools defined by the Company and share lessons learned  
  • Keeps himself/herself fully informed on key market developments and industry news/events in order to quickly identify business
  • Ensures that company security rules and group policies are shared and respected

Profiel kandidaat

The successful candidate is expected to have a range of competencies and experience including: 

  • Master’s degree in Business, Engineering or another relevant from an accredited university and at least 10 years of relevant experience
  • Understand economic, technical and regulatory aspects of the Renewable Industry
  • Experience in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Open to frequent travel
  • Fluent English required
