Context & Environment

TE H2 S.A. is a company owned by TotalEnergies and EREN, which creates and develops large-scale green hydrogen projects located in reputable sites with exceptional renewable resources, notably in North Africa, Latin America and Australia.

TE H2 S.A.S relies on the skills of its dedicated teams, as well as TotalEnergies' engineering teams, at every stage of project development, deploying their engineering and marketing expertise. Thanks to their inherently low production costs, TE H2's multi-gigawatt green hydrogen projects aim to supply Europe and Asia with reliable, low-carbon energy sources and decarbonized feedstocks in the form of hydrogen or its derivatives (such as ammonia).

Activiteiten

Your mission will consist in supporting the development of advanced control strategies to address the challenge of managing the intermittency of renewable energy in process control. Intermittency requires a paradigm shift from production control to meet demand, to demand control (processes) to adapt to production, and involves a change in design objectives. The mission involves supporting the team in integrating these constraints into advanced modeling:

  • Development of control strategies and techno-economic optimizations. For all or part of a project, develop, model, and optimize a control strategy and quantify operational challenges and/or economic impacts (availability, efficiency, fatigue) and size any potential countermeasures (storage).
  • Evaluation of dynamic unit modeling tools. Select the right modeling software and methodologies to qualify and optimize process units in dynamic mode.
  • Sizing of generation and electrical distribution architectures. Support engineering teams in sizing, choosing architectures, and costing electrical installations for projects.
  • Development of technical solutions internally (TE H2) in connection with:
    • Hydrogen, ammonia, methanol, and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) project development teams. Project status can range from origination (as part of business opportunity evaluation) to projects in development (MW and GW scales).
    • CODIR requests for more generic technical and strategic studies.
  • Participation in discussions with industrial players in the green hydrogen value chain.
  • Monitoring of actors (suppliers, integrators, design offices, modeling software) and technologies related to projects

Profiel kandidaat

  • Master’s degree (Bac+5) in Engineering with a specialization in Electrical Engineering, Advanced Process Control, or Energy Efficiency.
  • Initial experience (including internships or research projects) in process control modeling and/or energy optimization, detailed modeling, and simulation of complex systems.
  • Programming skills (VBA, Python, Matlab) and optionally in process simulation tools (Aspen Plus, HYSYS, ProSimPlus…).
  • Professional proficiency in both French and English (written and spoken); Spanish is a plus
  • strong interpersonal skills: team spirit, proactivity, adaptability, open-mindedness.
