Join Our Team as an Electrical Engineer at TotalEnergies Renewables USA, LLC! 

Are you passionate about renewable energy and ready to make a significant impact? TotalEnergies Renewables USA, LLC is expanding its presence in the renewable energy sector, and we are looking for a dedicated Electrical Engineer to join our team. This exciting role will serve as the electrical engineer on multiple complex renewable energy projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • HSE Compliance: Enforce TotalEnergies’ Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and ensure third-party compliance.
  • Project Engineering: Serve as the electrical engineer on complex renewable energy projects, establishing technical specifications and reviewing EPC and supply RFP and contract documents.
  • Design and Development: Support project estimating and development by preparing preliminary conceptual designs and reviewing specifications for electrical power facilities.
  • Interconnection Design: Review utility interconnection substation designs, including transformers, switchgear, protection systems, and cable systems.
  • Design Optimization: Conduct and review design studies to optimize equipment ratings and operating parameters.
  • SCADA Coordination: Collaborate with internal and EPC SCADA teams to ensure compliance with utility and internal requirements.
  • Site Due Diligence: Conduct due diligence on potential solar sites and evaluate their suitability.
  • Team Collaboration: Interface with project engineering, asset management, legal, and accounting teams, as well as EPC, client, regulatory, and permitting authorities.
  • Quality Control: Ensure project quality through on-site inspections and coordination with third-party engineers.
  • Policy Development: Assist in developing internal operating policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Documentation Management: Oversee the creation and management of technical documentation for utility-scale renewable projects.
  • Project Management: Manage projects from design through construction, including responding to RFIs, reviewing equipment submittals, and coordinating meetings.
  • Team Support: Provide guidance and support to project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Technical Reporting: Produce comprehensive technical reports, documentation, calculations, and drawings.
  • Design Review: Ensure EPC design work aligns with project scope and QA/QC requirements.
  • Compliance: Ensure design activities comply with relevant codes, standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Technical Support: Offer guidance in identifying and resolving project-related issues.
  • Business Planning: Assist in business planning, development, and training initiatives for renewable projects.
  • Interconnection Evaluation: Evaluate utility interconnection documents to ensure project design alignment.

Profiel kandidaat

Qualifications:

  • Education: 
    • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering - Master's degree in electrical engineering preferred.
    • EIT or PE, a plus.
  • Experience:
    • 3-4 years of experience in renewable energy projects.
    • Over 5 years of experience in electrical engineering. 
    • Familiarity with solar plant projects at both the substation and PV levels. 
    • Experience in testing and commissioning of substation or PV projects, a plus
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in reading and understanding schematic drawings for substations. 
    • Ability to review electrical studies and provide recommendations for renewable projects. 
    • Knowledge of national codes and standards, such as IEEE, NEC, NESC, and NFPA 70.
    • Knowledge of energy storage systems, particularly (BESS), a plus.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Willingness and ability to travel to project sites, approximately 5% of the time.
