Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred
15+ years of experience in a combination of Maintenance, Turnaround, or engineering
 * On call 24 hours/7 days per week as needed
 * During turnaround or unit outage, this position may work 12 to 14 hours for extended periods

  •  Works on a specified area/event under direction of the Platform Turnaround Manager to ensure turnaround planning, execution and overall performance goals are met.
  • Supervises and coordinates all personnel responsible for the repair of platform equipment during planned and unplanned unit outages, which are jobs traditionally having a major impact financially on the platform; monitors jobs to ensure that work is planned, parts are available, and that supervision understands their roles and responsibilities. 
  • Stays abreast of platform priorities and anticipates what appropriate response and manpower will be needed; ensures that work is completed in the most productive and efficient manner; incorporates industry best practices and driving organizational change to improve performance in turnaround execution. 
  • Mentors, coaches, councils, and directs appropriate supervisors to ensure they understand what is needed to improve performance and how change is facilitated in the organization; ensures that the appropriate people have had input into the plan and that the plan and expectations are communicated to all the parties concerned. 
  • Reviews turnaround plans and bids documents to ensure the document has addressed all concerns from a field execution perspective, and monitors turnaround work schedules to ensure the timeline will meet the requirements of the refinery. 
  • Analyzes turnaround performance indicators, and reporting progress of such to platform management, along with areas for improvement; analyze turnaround schedule compliance with respect to milestones to anticipate obstacles and determine corrective actions where necessary to achieve schedule compliance; charged with keeping turnaround work areas orderly and respecting environmental regulations *

Profil du candidat

  • Manage and direct Turnaround Maintenance personnel to accomplish the repair of refinery equipment during planned and unplanned unit outages. Ensure that craft resources and materials are deployed in the most effective manner, within the approved Turnaround budget. Develop, monitor compliance, and mentor specific programs and initiatives designed to improve turnaround maintenance effectiveness and increase productivity.
  • Possess knowledge of applicable HSE rules and Procedures. Investigate incidents and initiate follow-ups and corrective action. Enforce rules and procedures in a positive and fair manner. Provide safety leadership with expectations communicated to the supervisors. Initiate new safety procedures to comply with new regulations and maintenance procedures.
  • Maintain and promote good communication with refinery management, their direct reports, unit supervisors, technical, and maintenance supervision for all related activities by updating job status during turnaround and outage time periods. 
  • Monitor the planning phase of turnarounds and unit outages; direct the execution of these outages to insure the work is performed safely, per the scope, on time and within budget.
  • Analyze schedule compliance of the entire planning/execution process for each job with regard to milestone targets, and report status regularly to refinery management.
  • Provide technical knowledge and coaching to field execution and turnaround planning supervisors.
  • Steward the turnaround maintenance budget to forecast trends in actual versus budgets and assist in the preparation of the annual maintenance budget process.
  • Responsible for tracking, reporting, and managing Turnaround overhead costs in a cost-efficient manner.
