As the Project Manager - DG , this role will be based Remotely or in Berkeley, California; up to 15% travel, as needed to support assigned projects.

The base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $145,000. If you are hired at TotalEnergies, your base salary is determined on factors such as skills, experience, geographic location, and other market conditions. While it's not typical for offers to be made at the top of the range, please keep in mind that the base salary range is only one component of your overall compensation. Additionally, you are eligible for the benefits, bonuses, and incentives as listed above in the job description.

Activités

The Project Manager identifies and addresses critical inter-dependencies and insights via issue identification, resolution, and contingency planning, guiding project teams toward project milestone achievement. This role requires the ability to establish project objectives, liaise with prime client contacts, monitor and present construction and financial activities, and coordinate and lead efforts of design build /EPC firms and multiple consultants.  

Pre-Construction:  

  • Collaborate with Origination team to drive new business opportunities, support contract negotiation and execution, including risk identification and mitigation.
  • Manage in close alignment with Project Finance and other internal subject matter experts and stakeholders during pre-construction phase for the financing of transactions including all elements required to achieve Financial Close / Notice-To-Proceed: PPA, title, valuation, production forecast, interconnection position, legal documentation, and other items as required. 
  • Assist originations with negotiation of customer PPA/Lease agreements with specific focus on project qualifications, schedule, performance, reliability, and cost.
  • Perform review of customer documentation to define and optimize the technical offer and partnering strategy to minimize risk and create additional value through technology assessment, cost optimization, and sensitivity analysis.
  • Identify project objectives including safety, schedule, construction, technical requirements, materials, and reporting formats.
  • Perform risk-analysis / forecasting for assigned projects to minimize negative impact on company and assigned projects.
  • Serve as the primary corporate representative to the customer/host, permitting agencies, EPC partners, and other project consultants and personnel.
  • Manage the P&L of all projects within the portfolio from Project Award to Commercial Operation.
  • Overall responsibility to develop, manage and administer EPC partner contracts including technical exhibits (work authorizations).
  • Develop accurate consultant/EPC agreements aligned with Customer agreement and site-specific scope of work.  
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Construction: 

  • Responsible for compliance and monitoring of Company safety and quality performance metrics on assigned projects.
  • Manage and keep current Project Dashboards, Project tracker, Schedules and PRT’s as assigned.
  • Manage the planning, development, design, construction, and closeout process for all assigned projects internally and externally.
  • Manage project budget, financing of transactions, risk management, safety, quality, and schedule goals of assigned projects, from project inception through project closeout.
  • Optimize system performance and long-term system reliability by emphasizing systematic and value engineered approach to design and execution.
  • Identify and respond to issues/risks related to project plan (schedule, budget, resources, and scope), facilitating discussions between stakeholders, and driving resolution.  Escalates issues when appropriate.
  • Facilitate regularly scheduled core team meetings, providing transparency around project progress (schedule, budget, resources, and scope).  
  • Develop / manage key deliverables from internal/external teams to ensure design aligns with relevant agreements. 
  • Oversee Procurement Plan development and execution including scope development, bid solicitation, receipt, and analysis including selection and subcontract negotiation. 
  • Lead PPA agreement contract management overall, as well as change management (post PPA execution) including interface with internal subject matter experts and external stakeholders prior to project NTP and Mobilization.
  • Encourage and Enable people to work together as a team to complete a successful project.
  • Promote and suggest process improvements and project management best practice methodologies and tools.
  • Other duties as assigned. 


Profil du candidat

Education/Experience:

  • Undergraduate Degree in engineering, project management, construction management, or equivalent.  Master’s degree preferred.
  • A combination or equivalency of 8+ years of progressive Project Development, Project Management, Commercial Construction, Design/Build management, Electrical Construction.
  • At least 5 years of renewable energy experience is required.

Skills:

  • Strong communication skills and ability drive interaction with multi-disciplinary team members with emphasis on successfully communicating complex technical issues to non-technical personnel.
  • Ability to recognize conflict and apply strategies to overcome it. Thinking in opportunities instead of barriers. Ability to negotiate agreements.
  • Strong technical, supervisory, and project management skills based on construction or related industry experience. 
  • Ability to lead by example, logical problem-solving skills, works well in team environment, balances multiple/changing priorities.
  • Critical thinking and decision-making skills and the ability to influence without authority, driving a sense of urgency, ownership, accountability, and culture of high performance.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and MS Project is required.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is not required but is preferred. 
  • Procore certification, is preferred.
  • Experience with emerging technologies preferred: Micro-grid, Battery storage, SCADA, and other industry standard project level monitoring/communication protocols.
  • Ability to take calculated risks and demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross functional team environment required. 
  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Willingness to travel, as required.
