Contexto y entorno

There is no equivalent project of such an industrial drilling magnitude in a remote and sensitive area within the Company today. The Tilenga oilfields are partly situated in a protected National Park, partly beneath the river Nile wetlands area, and within densely populated area in a rural and remote part of Uganda. Activities exposed to the risk of major incidents with severe potential consequences due to local environment and important presence of NGO’s. Factory Drilling with a well delivered every 4 days using 3 drilling rigs simultaneously will necessitate standardization of equipment and procedures, strict enforcement of Drilling & Well instructions, safe and efficient logistic management on site. The project is focused on delivering the lowest possible cost, which requires challenging TotalEnergies design concepts as well as substantially challenging the TotalEnergies referential.

Heavy and waxy oils will be produced from 29 well pads, (with 9 located in a national park) and treated in a Production Center of 200,000bopd oil capacity and 650,000 bwpd of water treatment capacity. Reservoir pressure maintenance is ensured either by water injection and by polymer water injection depending on the reservoir’s characteristics. The project also includes an extended interconnecting network with temperature preservation. LPG extraction, storage and tankers loading facilities are part of the CPF facilities.

Multicultural environment

Ugandan rules and regulations, administrative requirements and technical authorizations as well as international codes for onshore plant will apply.  Due to staggered development on CPF and Well Pads, it is expected that SIMOPS at CPF (Operations vs Construction and Commissioning) and SIMOPS at Well Pads (Operations/DW or WO/Construction and Commissioning) will occur.

Actividades

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

OTS engineering and development phase:

  • Get familiar with OTS specifications and Models (Model Acceptance Test procedure).
  • Follow up development progress for OTS versus ICSS. Attend OTS FAT.
  • Coordinate installation of OTS on site and SAT
  • Get familiar with all OTS functionality to reach a superuser level
  • Coordinate with OneTech to review possible integration of Basic Learning Modules (BLM)
  • Propose and test scenarii for the 20 sub-sections of the model (Well pads, Oil reception, Oil processing, Oil export, Heating medium, Gas compression, Fuel Gas system). Asses the robustness / capabilities of the OTS and associated simulations.

Training on site with OTS:

  • Develop detailed Training program on OTS for Control Room Operators, but as well for CPF Field Operators and Well pad Operators.

For the 20 sub-sections of the model, the training shall cover:

  1. Cross-reference between OTS and DCS architecture and HMI components
  2. Reference to ESD panel and Fire & Gas Functions
  3. Navigation on ICSS, safety logics.
  4. Cold start-up simulations.
  5. Basic parameters settings.
  6. Understanding of Control loops.
  7. Alarm management, Response to upsets.
  8. Hot restart.
  9. Stop.
  10. Emergency shutdown.
  • Liaise with Training coordinator and with Site trainers to adapt training sessions content and planning to match On-Job training and site activities.
  • In liaise with Production supervisors, assist the OJT trainees in the preparation of operating procedures, and test the procedures on OTS.
  • Test current ICSS settings on OTS; identify potential issues; propose corrective measures Perform audits of operating procedures.
  • Perform weekly assessment of the personnel, written report to OJT coordinator and Prod superintendent
  • Share monthly meeting status report for training program progress.

Management of OTS:

  • Anticipate maintenance of the OTS.
  • Review contracts, licenses.
