As the Director, Business Development position you'll be responsible for :

Know, respect and ensure compliance with the Company's Code of Conduct. Directly manage the work of Business Development team members assigned to business and project development for onshore wind, solar and energy storage M&A acquisitions across the US. Oversee and coordinate market fundamentals research, competitive analysis, and business strategy formation for onshore renewables projects. Identify, pursue, negotiate, and close contractual relationships with counterparties and partners for originating, co-investing, acquiring & developing profitable utility-scale renewable projects across various US markets. Guide and validate the development and refinement of onshore wind, solar and storage-related project financial models and revenue analyses. Partner with team leaders in project finance, project development, technical/execution, and other groups to continuously improve strategies and internal processes that govern project acquisitions. Lead and oversee commercial negotiations of M&A acquisition contracts (MIPAs, PSAs, JV agreements, Investment Agreements). Supervise the selection and management of consultants and legal firms to perform due diligence of project M&A acquisition targets. Contribute to document tenders, internal validation, and stakeholders’ reports, in particular contractual, project finance, and legal aspects, liaising with TERUSA’s structured finance & legal teams. Provide commercial support and guidance for project finance and sell-down activities. Represent TERUSA in industry working groups, policy forums, conferences, and internal group meetings. Contribute to TERUSA Budget and Long-Term Plan exercises and implementation.n Lead business intelligence & regulatory analysis across target geographies to inform TERUSA’s go-to-market, M&A acquisition, permitting and project finance strategy.

Your Impact

Accountability for safety, portfolio development through M&A (MW capacities and revenues optimization). Create and supervise the implementation of TERUSA business development strategy in a cost-effective manner. Market strategy, planning and execution, following TotalEnergies Renewables global strategy. Work closely with TotalEnergies Renewables international headquarters, TotalEnergies US Affiliates, and co-developers to develop profitable M&A opportunities.

Perfil del candidato

Education & Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent level technical skills required for the position.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience working in the energy industry including at least 2-5 years of experience in M&A and 2 years in a team management role.
  • Proven track record of closing on acquisitions of energy projects and contract/business structures to market. 
  • Proven expertise in creating / managing partnerships, and leading grid-scale infrastructure transactions. 
  • Strong knowledge of energy market fundamentals and wholesale electricity markets, tariffs, and market rules. 
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver on large scale utility energy development projects and work with cross-functional teams Behavioral competencies required for the position.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to take personal initiative while working effectively within a team.
  • English is required French not required, but a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of energy market fundamentals and wholesale electricity markets, tariffs, and market rules.
