Context and Environment

GGIP is a first-of-its-kind pioneering multi-energy project representing 27 B$ investment over 30 years for TotalEnergies and its partners This project involves; 1.Oil development project (‘AGUP’)to increase current Ratawi field to 210 kbpd .(2) Collection and treatment of 600 MMscf/d of associated gas (‘GMP’) that would otherwise flare, reducing the flaring level in Basra region and provide additional 480 MMscf/d of gas to the national grid and 3,600 tons per day of LPG to supply the Iraqi domestic market. (3) Development of a 1 GW solar power plant (‘SPP’), one of the largest in the Middle East, increasing power capacity in Basra region by more than 30%. (4) Construction of sea water treatment plant of 5 million of water barrels per day (‘CSSP’) to increase South Iraq crude oil production by up to 1 million barrels oil per day and freeing the use of freshwater from rivers and aquifers to preserve irrigation sources for agricultural needs.

Job responsibilities

The main tasks of the Head of Audit are as follows:

  • Lead a team of Health & Safety (HSE) Auditors
  • Act as Lead Auditor when required.
  • Develop an HSE audit plan for the Affiliate
  • Reinforce the relation with Contractors for a long term approach 
  •  Demonstrate strong general knowledge of the ISO Standards including ISO 9001 or ISO 14001.
  • Prepare and execute scheduled audits including planning, preparation, execution, reporting, and follow-up in accordance with Company requirements and policies.
  • Document all information relevant to audit results including findings, opportunities for improvements, and observations.
  • Assist with implementing audit tools to improve audit efficiencies.
  • Assist with creating, revising, and documenting Internal Audit policies and procedures.
  • Participate in annual external audits.
  • Assist in development of audit plans, audit schedules.
  • Contribute to HSE internal and external risk-based audit program.
  • Develop and ensure execution of annual audit program.
  • Manage external audits from group or authorities.
  • Follow the HSE action plans from audits, visits and inspections realized by Group or affiliate personal and insure they are well implemented.
  • Contribute to the creation of new procedures and management system documentation requested as part of the deployment of the One Maestro framework system.

Perfil del candidato

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor's in Safety, Environment , Mechanical, Petroleum, Chemical or Process Engineering 
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Oil and Gas with at least 5 years in HSE  and some experience in auditing 
  • Exposure to Companies certified in ISO 9001 or 14001.
  • Ability to communicate and network in a complex and multicultural organization. 
  • Ability to to take initiative, be proactive , analyze and prioritize is essential
  • Written and oral communication in English and Arabic are essential/mandatory

Job Dimensions

The position of Head of Audit  reports to the Methods& Audit Manager, in this context you will work in close collaboration with the other departments. The Job holder will receive guidelines hir/her hierarchical reporting line, to ensure the implementation of the audit plan, Company's QHSE requirements across the affiliate specially among local employees. The job holder is the focal person to coordinate audit activities with the team in the affiliate
