Are you passionate about shaping the future of clean energy? TotalEnergies is seeking a dynamic Interconnection Engineer to lead and support transmission and interconnection activities for solar, wind, hybrid, and standalone storage projects across the U.S.

As an Interconnection Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of our renewable energy development efforts, driving technical studies, managing interconnection processes, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to bring innovative energy solutions to life.


🌱 Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage interconnection technical studies for solar, wind, loads, and energy storage systems.
  • Conduct bulk power system studies using tools like PSS/E, PowerWorld, TARA, PSLF, and PSCAD.
  • Support technical due diligence for project acquisitions and development.
  • Coordinate ISO/RTO, TSP analyses and summarize findings for cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain databases, consultant networks, and cost estimates related to interconnection.
  • Define scopes for load flow and dynamic studies to support development and execution.
  • Drive process improvements and collaborate with GIS teams to enhance efficiency.
  • Participate in technical committees to ensure compliance with grid codes and regulations.
  • Perform other tasks and take on additional duties as reasonably assigned by the team.

Perfil del candidato

🎓 What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the renewable energy sector (Development highly preferred).
  • Expertise in power systems, grid architecture, and interconnection processes.
  • Proficiency in modeling software and programming languages (Python, C/C++, SQL).
  • Deep understanding of at least three RTO/ISO regions (e.g., ERCOT, CAISO, PJM, etc.).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Capable of working under minimum supervision on assignments and projects.
  • Previous experience as a transmission planning, transmission, generation, transmission analyst, or interconnection engineer preferred.
