  • Increased demand by customers for TEMF to be able to deliver LNG at more countries;
  • Increasing demand or pressure to develop alternative clean or renewable energies for use as bunkers.

Activities

  • Works in functional collaboration with a team of lawyers based in Paris in ACI. 
  • Advises and assists operational and business teams in all areas of business law for their day-to-day operations as well as for their development strategy;
  • Ensures compliance with the Company’s programs on economic sanctions and export control, anti-bribery and corruption as a support to the Compliance officer; 
  • Drafts and negotiates all commercial agreements both under civil law and common law systems (e.g. bunkering agreements, charter party agreements, general terms and conditions of purchase and sale, confidentiality agreements, memoranda of understanding, service contracts, LNG supply agreements, etc.);
  • Coordinates the contributions of the various lawyers (tax, anti-trust, …) in Singapore and abroad intervening in its scope of intervention and coordinates together with the support of a senior lawyer cross-functional projects and commercial disputes falling within the scope of his/her assignment of responsibilities;
  • Provides legal support for the management of credit risk-related matters (parent company guarantees, credit insurance, set-off agreements, insolvency proceedings, etc.); supervises the corporate secretary and all corporate matters
  • Attends the One TotalEnergies One Legal Singapore (OTOL) meetings, organizes and participates in legal training for Singapore and OTOL lawyers.

Candidate Profile

  • L.L.B. or J.D., preferably qualified in Singapore or the UK, with a sound understanding of contract law. 
  • Experience in the energy sector - knowledge of marine fuels and LNG products will be desirable;
  • Independent, with the ability to analyze, manage and balance well various risks, priorities, commercial expectations and timelines; Ability to work in an international and fast-moving environment;
  • Good interpersonal relationships and understanding of cross-functional management mechanisms and collaboration;
  • Excellent oral and written English skills. 
  • At least 5 years of ‘post-qualification experience’ in either a law firm or as a legal counsel at an established company.
