TEPU is transitioning and needs staff competency development for the upcoming project phase, including first oil ramp-up and field operations at the industrial site.
Dynamic business requires efficient, flexible adaptation to evolving demands. Ability to work under pressure and handle
emergencies is essential. Maintain confidentiality of HR and medical information in a multicultural environment.
• Support all field medical and evacuation activities. Support field audit and inspection activities. Support all medical campaigns for the affiliate (wellness, annual medical checks, etc). Support broader HR activities for the affiliate
• Provide Medical consultation for TotalEnergies EP Uganda and TotalEnergies Uganda Limited expatriates’ employees and dependents as a full-time physician for TEPU as a GP with experience and competence in occupational health and emergency care.
• Provide support and assistance to the CMO / HSE / HR Director regarding International and Medical health laws.
• Coordinate and Inform HR about all the Fitness Certificates for TEPU expatriates with the TotalEnergies HQ medical department. Ensure translation of medical /clinical information related to patients.
• Support the CMO with any relevant medical information on time for TEPU (sources: WHO, CDC, International Sources).
• Support CMO to organize medical awareness sessions to prevent diseases or accidents.
• Support CMO with the Medical dashboard with objectives defined by the HSE / HR managers when assigned.
• Remain available on call 24 / 7 for any emergency medical issue.
• Order medical items and drugs (with C&P), follow-up the inventory and ensure about the on-time delivery.
• Develop a medical network within the affiliate and headquarters.
• Support in inspection and recommendation of new health facilities in Uganda (Kampala and upcountry) / Registered providers for TEPU and others and update the CMO and HR Director.
• Supervise health and Hygiene inspections for TEPU operational sites.
• Support CMO in the Review and update medical procedures in place / propose new ones.
• Support and manage medical budgeting activities for the department.
• Act on behalf of the CMO during his/her absence in administrative matters or when assigned.
• Stay available for any extra-missions and trainings.
• Bachelor’s degree in medicine & surgery, Certification in Emergency Medicine and Disaster Medicine, Certification in Traumatology
• 10 years of experience heading one of these experiences: Emergency medical Department.
• 5-8 years’ experience in clinical medicine and remote site care.
• Experience with Oil & gas sector in an active remote onshore field operations site is a must.
• Knowledge and experience in Occupation health is an added advantage.
• Fluent in English and French is desired.
• Knowledgeable of Medical Hazards and Risk Management
• Proven excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Cross-cultural managerial skills.
