Contexto y entorno

GranMorgu is a fast-track development, representing a flagship Project for TTE. It is also the 1st offshore project in the history of Suriname and the 1st development for TTE in this country. In parallel TotalEnergies EP Suriname B.V. also carries Exploration and Appraisal drilling activities.

Suriname is the most forested and 1 out of 3 carbon negative countries in the world with a small population ~650 Khab). It has undeveloped industry infrastructure and skilled labor force in country (e.g. local content, shorebase, regulations), with no offshore industry experience nor regulation and high expectations from a potential Oil and Gas development which will represent a game changer for the country, potentially doubling its current GDP.

Important responsibility to uphold the public image and reputation of the Company while promoting the Company in a new country and, among other HSE initiatives, showcase responsible operatorship via Environmental initiatives (e.g. Biodiversity Action Plans and to minimize environmental impact) and Corporate Social Responsibility programs (e.g. Stakeholder Engagement).

TotalEnergies EP Suriname B.V. manages:

  • PSC contracts on multiple Blocks, currently pursuing extensive exploration, appraisal and development phases. 
  • PSC contract on Block 58 (40%, TE Operator, partnered by Apache 40% and Staatsolie 20%), pursuing development Project phase. FID for on B58 for GranMorgu Project development signed in October 2024 (10G$+)
  • PSC Contract on Block 64 (40%, TE Operator, partnered by QE 30% and Petronas 40%), well to be drilled in May 2025.
  • PSC Contract on Blocks 6&8 (40%, TE Operator, partnered by QE 20% and Paradise Oil Company 40%), currently preparing exploration and appraisal phase.
  • Today +200 contracts and approximately 100 POs to cover an affiliate with Rigs drilling GranMorgu from end of 2026 and the installation of one FPSO, UFR and SPS project packages planned from end of 2027.  1 Exploration and Appraisal Rigs will also be operating in parallel in the different blocks operated by TotalEnergies EP Suriname B.V.

Actividades

  • The Safety Operations Engineer is a position that supports the Health and Safety Manager with various related topics. Responsibilities include:
  • Assist Health & Safety Manager with monitoring and application of appropriate HSE Management System for the control of HSE risks associated with activities with reference to Group referential, relevant regulations, codes and standards as well as best practices
  • Develop and assure quality process for the reporting of HSE performance for the affiliate including data definition, collation, quality control and analysis and reporting
  • Prepare, review and recommend reference documents such as plans, procedures and guidelines as part of the HSE MS
  • Support the implementation and promotion of the tools to develop the Affiliate Safety culture: Golden Rules, observation cards, Sites HSE management visits, HSE talks, newcomers HSE orientation/induction, etc.
  • Training: Ensure definition of HSE training plans and verify compliance of training delivered vs required. Ensure the training matrix is up to date and coordinate the deployment of SafePass
  • Reporting: Assist with HSE reporting for the affiliate in compliance with Company and EP requirements
  • Planning: Assist Health & Safety Manager to prepare and monitor the implementation of HSE action plan, aiming at continuous improvement of HSE performance
  • Emergency Response: Assist with the monitoring and updating of the Emergency Response Plan and other associated plans; oversee the preparation, execution, and follow-up of emergency exercises
  • Coordinate weekly Emergency Response roster and the Duty Officer rotations.


  • Contribute to the performance of operations in line with high HSE standards
  • Supports in the development of the TEEPSR HSE MS
  • Learn principles of One MAESTRO and help prepare affiliate for first oil
  • Gain knowledge of best practice standards
  • Monitor performance against key performance indicators.

Perfil del candidato

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent in experience and diplomas. At least 10 years HSE experience in an industrial setting.
  • Good experience in Risk Assessment and Management (HAZOP, HAZID) and international HSE best practices.
  • Good experience in Emergency Management and Crisis Communication.
  • Proved competencies in the following areas: Operational Safety, Audits, Incident Investigation, Crisis Management, Problem solving, Communication, Contract Management, ISO certifications, and the preparation of SOP’s
  • Ability to work cross functionally, independently, and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills and solid report writing 
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
