Contexto y entorno

In the Geoscience & Reservoir Technical Line and as part of the Modeling Simulation & Production Optimization Department (MSPO), the Geostatistics and Uncertainties service (GU) is in charge of methodology and methods implementation to define and manage uncertainties through the whole chain of reservoir modeling: from the structural, through the geological and up to the dynamic uncertainties. The Dynamic uncertainties are often including the so called “history matching” part where the inverse problem is solved by updating the parameters of the model in order to fit to the observed dynamic data. Classically such inverse problem is solved with the help of Experimental Design approach where a surface of response is computed in multi-dimensional parameter space. Then the minimization of such surface of response is allowing to find the optimal parameters helping to match the observation data. Today new technique called multi-fidelity experimental design is emerging promising to compute better or faster the same surface of response.

Actividades

As a Reservoir Geoscience Engineer Intern M/F, your responsibilities will include:

  • Testing different parameter sets and visualizing the corresponding response surfaces in 3D.
  • Demonstrating that the optimization phase effectively identifies the minimum points of the surface.

These tests may be carried out on two datasets: one synthetic and one operational.
