Contexto y entorno

The Port Arthur Platform is a large and complex industrial site, with about 650 employees. It is ideally positioned on the US Gulf Coast. It has access to a wide array of marine, road and pipeline transportation facilities. It includes the deep-conversion Refinery (PAR), the Ethane Cracker Unit (ECU, jointly owned with Borealis) and shares numerous synergies with the BTP Joint Venture made of a world-class steam cracker and its downstream units. The site is one of the main Refining &Chemicals strategic assets of TotalEnergies

Actividades

* Define and implement Real Time Performance Control (RTPC) workflow to assess daily unit performance, throughput and valorization effects, feed and product qualities, material balance, constraints, and key performance indicators. Identify performance gaps and opportunities that real-time performance control can address.
 * Evaluate means to measure valorization gaps against the monthly plan, targets, and budget to identify opportunities for improvement. Provide a daily summary report of main deviations. Escalate as needed. Identify gaps in real-time visibility and operational responsiveness.
 * Review best off-the-shelf tools, evaluate the most cost-efficient options with the Company’s Digital Factory and support the development of an RTPC application.
 * Improve existing dashboards and visualization tools using plant data, and develop escalation protocols, performance alerts, and standard responses for common deviations. Refine tools and processes based on feedback from control room operators, process support engineers, operations supervisors and business team leaders.
 * Attend the daily operations meeting to provide a real-time performance snapshot of the site key units
 * Work closely with the Advanced Process Control (APC) team to ensure APC applications and Real Time Dynamic Optimization (RTDO) are well-tuned and aligned with economic objectives (e.g. maximizing high value product yields, minimizing energy use, saturating constraints).
 * Review content and objectives of the Weekly Operating Performance Analysis (WOPA), weekly financial forecasts, month-end results, and other reporting responsibilities.
 * Provide simplified guides with description and steps on how to use the various tools needed for RTPC. Identify internal champions and provide recommendations for long-term ownership of real-time performance control activities.
 * Train Operations and Technical Support staff on real-time performance control practices and establish routines to ensure sustainable habits in daily workflows

Perfil del candidato

The Real Time Performance Control Advisor has the mission to design, pilot, and institutionalize a real-time performance control framework for the site. This temporary role will focus on building the tools, processes and cross-functional routines needed for a daily evaluation and monitoring of the site economic performance considering optimal feedstock, unit rates, product yields, product qualities and process unit constraints. The position is also a key contributor to the site Industrial Performance improvement Boost 27 program. Once the temporary assignment is completed, RTPC activities are to be continued as part of Performance Control main routines.

Qualifications:

* Degree in Engineering, or relevant industrial experience.

* 5+ years refining/petrochemicals experience preferred. Familiar with refinery process schemes and economic optimization.

* Computer proficiency, good oral/written/interpersonal communication skills, self-starter, multi-tasking capabilities, detail oriented.

* Knowledge of any of the following would be a plus: Power BI, Excel VBA, Linear Programming, Data Reconciliation, PI Vision, AspenTech Aura.

* Flexibility of work schedule around deadlines.

Accountabilities:

* Build and implement real-time performance control tools and processes tailored to site operations.
 * Ensure critical KPIs are tracked and deviations addressed in a timely and economically sound manner. Drive adoption across platform.
 * Primary backup for the Performance Control Engineer position
