  • General Engineer or equivalent with 10 years of experience in the Renewables or Energy Industry with at least one mandatory significant experience in an Operations position.
  • Experience in digital solutions or producing assets monitoring will be an advantage.
  • Experience in onshore wind operations is a plus.
  • Ensure to maintain good communication, and influence with multiple stakeholders in constant changing environment and growing portfolios.

TotalEnergies is looking for an R&D Project Leader Wind Operations & Performance who will be responsible for coordinating R&D projects dedicated to Digital Twins and operations performance.

The R&D O&M activities cover the activities on Availability and Reliability, Dynamic Digital Twins & Asset Monitoring, and Offshore Operations Means. 

Regarding the Dynamic Digital Twins and Asset Monitoring activities, it is stated that the software ecosystems of Remote Operations Centers are under consideration in light of Company historical operational experience, and of renewables experience coming from renewables companies in our portfolio (Brazil, USA, …), and internal expertise. The R&D Wind Program positions itself, as a solutions provider, will bring innovative, internal or external, software solutions to strengthen these ecosystems towards enhanced operational efficiency. 

The objectives are minimizing OPEX while maximizing value creation. Optimization of production, increased performance in O&M execution, consistent planification of the O&M activities, thanks to Digital Twins outcomes, are levers to be employed. One of the objectives is to ensure the overall consistency of Dynamic Digital Twins and Asset Monitoring works in different R&D disciplines from an O&M perspective.

The job position also covers projects on all the O&M topics including groundbreaking monitoring strategies such as projects related to robotics for O&M, innovative sensors technologies, availability modelling, reliability data, major component replacement, and innovative marine logistics.

The jobholder will have direct responsibility of several R&D O&M projects origination and execution for an annual budget around 5 M€. 

As a R&D Project Leader Wind Operations & Performance your day-to-day activities will be as follows:


  • Ensure the follow-up and completion of your projects
  • Propose or participate in new activities in line with business needs
  • Coordinate all players involved in projects, including external resources
  • Report research results in writing and/or with internal/external presentations and ensure transfer of solutions to appropriate teams
  • Take into account HSE and operational constraints when implementing technical solutions
  • Monitor and communicate technological developments in his/her field of expertise (conferences, publications, internal knowledge transfer,
  • etc.).
  • Develop and implement new techniques (methods, testing resources, software, etc.).
  • Manage project operating and investment budgets
  • Monitor PhDs, service providers and trainees under his/her responsibility
