PURPOSE:
The O&M Engineer at the PV Plant is responsible for ensuring the reliable, efficient, and safe operation and maintenance of high-voltage electrical systems within the photovoltaic power plant in accordance with the local requirements and regulations. This role involves overseeing the technical personnel, managing maintenance schedules, and implementing operational strategies to maximize plant performance and minimize downtime. The O&M Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of the electrical infrastructure, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and contributing to the overall success and sustainability of the power plant.
CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Engineer, 2 years of professional experience in the field of renewable energy or 3 years of experience in HV power plants in a similar position.
Electrical safety certification – category 5.
Experience in managing people.
Technical knowledge of operating a photovoltaic installation. Extensive experience in working with Excel,data processing and maintenance procedures.
Good skills in qualitative and quantitative analysis.
Critical mind. Attentive.
Motivated. Works in a team with representatives of different profiles and cultures.
Speaks and writes Russian and English perfectly. Kazakh is an advantage.
Technical knowledge of operating a photovoltaic installation and HV power plants
Driver's license category B minimum.
SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITIES:
O&M o Management of the O&M facility personnel (technical specialists) according to the company organizational chart. o Develop and implement annual and long-term operation and maintenance plans. o Ensure the fulfillment of the photovoltaic power plant generation schedule, reliable, economical and safe operation of the photovoltaic power plant. o Control the start-up and shutdown of generation facilities and other equipment of the photovoltaic power plant, as well as changes in its operating modes, switching on the main electrical circuits, protection circuits and automation of the photovoltaic power plant. o Monitors the availability and serviceability of mechanization and vehicles, special equipment and devices. o Register malfunctions, defects, events of unsatisfactory operation. o Monitor the labor discipline of personnel, identify and eliminate identified deviations from the requirements of rules and instructions. o Manage actions to eliminate (localize) accidents and other technological violations in the operation of the photovoltaic power plant, natural disasters and fires, as well as to eliminate the consequences of incidents. o Participate in final inspections following maintenance, repairs or new installations performed by Contractors. o Responds to corrective maintenance incidents to correct faults, test and repair. o Monitor plant availability metrics to ensure optimal performance o Supervise subcontractor activities o Participate in incident investigations and investigations. o Conduct plant forecast o Perform PTW procedure o Conducting firefighting and emergency response training for technical personnel, o Preparation of technical specifications and work plans Health and Safety o Ensure all site work complies with Health, Safety, Fire, Electrical and other relevant regulations and local guidelines and procedures. o Ensure correct use of personal protective equipment. o Periodically pass examinations and obtain certificates in Electrical, Fire and Health Safety. o Register new employees/subcontractors in their duty logs. Financial Objectives/ Reporting o Report daily, weekly, monthly activities o Report any non-compliance o Prepare incident reports o Carry out work order execution o Assist in the preparation of the budget |
