What you will do 

Join our New Ventures and Predictive Analytics (NVPA) team within the Power Trading and Origination division at TotalEnergies. This is an exciting opportunity to work in an international, fast-paced trading environment. The NVPA team is instrumental in driving the global growth of our power trading activities, aligning with TotalEnergies’ ambitious goals in the power sector: 


  • Identify and open new markets. 
  • Enhance our expertise and enter new markets through acquisitions (M&A) 
  • Monitor the integration of new assets and teams within the power trading perimeter. 
  • Develop an internal vision for the future of the power trading entity. 


As an intern, you will be actively involved in all NVPA activities and will interact with a diverse range of internal (trading desks, legal, research) and external (consultants, potential partners) stakeholders. 

Missions include: 

  • Market Research & Analysis: 
    Conduct market and regulatory research to identify potential partners and key stakeholders. and understand regulatory frameworks 
    Monitor competitors’ activities in targeted markets. 
    Analyze market trends, ( penetration of renewables, supply and demand dynamics, and correlation with the LNG market) 


  • Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A): 
    Collaborate closely with the corporate M&A team to assess power trading business opportunities and perform due diligence. 
    Provide expert trading insights to develop compelling offers. 
    Review information memorandums and data rooms, participate in Q&A sessions, and prepare internal reports for management committees. 
  • Integration of New Businesses: 
    Participate in the post-acquisition integration process. 
    Coordinate with front office, legal, finance, compliance, and IT teams to ensure smooth integration and maximize transaction value. 
  • Long-term Planning & Budgeting: 
    Assist in developing the business plan for power trading activities. 
    Liaise with various desks and relevant teams within the company (cPPA, Renewables, Flexible Power) to model business forecasts. 
    Draft presentations and materials to support the business case. 


The NVPA team is multi-cultural, with members based in Geneva, Houston, and Paris. We value the sharing of ideas, knowledge, and expertise, and believe that collaboration is the key to our collective success. 

Profil der Bewerberin/des Bewerbers

Your profile 

  • You are enrolled in a Master (Engineering, Business).
  • You have proven analytical skills (ability to analyse and to solve complex problems), project management skills (managing multiple tasks and define priorities). Proficiency with financial modelling is a strong plus.
  • You have basic knowledge of but strong interest in the energy market.
  • You should be able to explain complex issues and present them in a clear and neat manner in English. French is a plus.
  • You have good communication skills, a can-do attitude and proactively take initiatives
  • You know how to work in an evolving environment where pressure and urgency are daily occurrences.
  • The position requires autonomy, objectivity, innovation, to be resourceful and well organised.
  • A tri-partite internship agreement is mandatory
