Assets and New Venture Opportunities evaluation are a key activity of TotalEnergies Exploration. It aims at maintaining a portfolio of of prospects and acreages with drillable prospects fitting with criteria of value, technical costs and limited GHG footprint. Due to the “business” nature of exploration activities the environment is fast-paced and prone to rapid changes of strategies and priorities, requiring a high degree of flexibility from the jobholder.

Actividades

  • As part of an Asset or NV Projects team and focusing on Americas’ identified conduct new business opportunities evaluations in priority zones based on technical geosciences studies under the guidance of the Exploration or New Venture Projects manager.
  • In the frame of exploration opportunity evaluations (e.g. divestments, bidding rounds, and direct negotiations) take an active role in the participation to Data Rooms and associated technical interactions.
  • Analyze, validate and integrate all relevant geophysical and geological data available within the given study area at regional, sub-regional, and prospect scales.
  • Perform 2D and 3D seismic data interpretation: 
    • Calibrate wells, create subsurface maps and structural models and evaluate geometries and gross volumes of prospective structures.
    • Build and interpret attribute maps (spectral decom,…)
    • Perform Amplitude and DHI studies using angle stacks, gathers. Integrate results in Fiche Shine
  • Contribute from seismic interpretation to:
    • The understanding of the generative system and petroleum potential of studied basins based
    • The paleogeographic and depositional framework to mature valid exploration plays
  • Initiate and follow geological and geophysical specialist studies to support the evaluation of the study area / studied play.
  • Integrate geophysical and geological interpretations towards the estimation of prospective resources, the probability of success, risks and uncertainties.
  • Evaluate and rank plays and prospects and for asset works, propose well locations, 
  • Follow up of well while drilling by calibrating newly acquired data.
  • Present study results and evaluations in internal quality or decisional committees and workshops and technical meetings with third parties if applicable.
  • Work with a high degree of autonomy and maturity.

Perfil del candidato

Education/Experience:

  • Master’s or PhD degree in geology or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in Exploration

Skills:

  • Good knowledge of most of the Geoscience disciplines (Geology, geophysics, geoinformation) to realize studies in various exploration domains.
  • Excellent communication skills, including fluency in English (written and oral). 

Other: 

  • Flexibility and openness to work in a flexible, fast-paced international environment.
