Activities

The Electrical QA/QC will oversee all electrical quality aspects of utility-scale solar PV projects from construction through commissioning and final handover to Operations. This position is responsible for implementing and managing the project's Quality Assurance and Quality Control program, ensuring that electrical installations are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, codes, and industry standards. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to drive quality performance, monitor compliance, identify corrective actions, and provide regular updates on project quality status and progress.


This Electrical QA/QC will work on our Piedra Solar site in Teague, TX.


Your key responsibilities will include:


  • Enforce Total Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) policy in all his/her responsibilities and ensure that external third parties (EPC firms, consultants.) operate in a manner acceptable to Total HSE standards
  • Responsible for performing the day-to-day maintenance and implementation of the quality plan.
  • Monitor/manage deficiencies to quality plan and work to completion.
  • Perform quality report and oversee the documentation of QC.
  • Ensure compliance with the quality plan.
  • Complete Quality Inspections for Electrical installations using the Vyn Digital System.
  • Complete equipment Receiving Inspections for main power transformers and inverter/transformer skids using the Vyn Digital System when required.
  • Verify completion documentation required by contract has been provided by Contractors
  • Manage all nonconformities related to electrical installations, identify a resolution, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Schedule, manage and attend meetings related to Quality issues.
  • Distribute relevant QC documentation to site contractors.
  • Identify the accuracy of contractor work.
  • Verify that the quality related site activities are in accordance with the applicable codes and standards.
  • Jointly, with Construction and Procurement departments, review meetings of contractual specifications for all materials involved in the project.
  • Work with owner’s engineer to review design drawings and engineering deliverables from EPC contractors to prioritize critical areas for further Engineering review.
  • Ensure project quality control by conducting on-site inspections as needed, coordinating with 3rd party independent engineering.
  • Manage the collection, organization and filing of all project documentation, both internally and for external third-party stakeholders.
  • Assist with the development of internal operating policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Act as an Electrical consultant in the areas of Electrical work.
  • Attend and contribute to weekly and monthly meetings.


In this role, you will directly contribute to safe execution, quality assurance, and successful delivery of critical renewable energy projects.

Candidate Profile

Qualification/Experience:

  • Undergraduate associate’s degree in engineering, project management, construction management, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years' QA/QC experience required in PV.
  • Minimum 5 years' construction QA/QC experience needed.
  • Require familiarity with photovoltaic solar design and technical standards.
  • Good knowledge in electrical work for PV Solar, BESS, and Substations. Medium and High Voltage.
  • Knowledge of latest codes and standards.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, CPM scheduling, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as Adobe Acrobat
  • Superior communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, capable of leading efficiently and outperforming assigned objectives.
  • Excellent organizational skills demonstrated by clear and effective project plans and executive level reporting that ensure timely action and decision making in time-pressure scenarios.
  • Microsoft Office Skills at an intermediate level. Energy storage knowledge a plus.
  • US work permit.
