Context & Environment

The Business Transformation Lead operates in a dynamic business environment focused on driving lean continuous improvement and digital transformation across multiple business functions. Working closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external partners, the role supports the organization's transformation agenda by identifying opportunities to simplify processes, improve efficiency, and leverage digital, automation, and AI technologies to enhance business performance.


The position requires balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, influencing stakeholders across different levels of the organization, and managing change in a rapidly evolving technology landscape. Success depends on strong collaboration, the ability to challenge conventional ways of working, and delivering sustainable business outcomes.


Activities

Lean Process Improvement

    Identify process inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities across business functions.

    Lead and facilitate end-to-end continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies, including Gemba Walks, process mapping, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), root cause analysis, and workflow optimization to improve operational performance and business outcomes.

    Collaborate with cross-functional business teams to identify improvement opportunities, challenge existing ways of working, and translate business requirements into digital, automation, and AI-enabled solutions.

    Facilitate cross-functional workshops to align stakeholders, remove barriers, and accelerate decision-making.

    Support business functions in the design, development, and implementation of future-state processes, operating models, and digital solutions.


Digital Transformation 

    Contribute to the development and execution of the business transformation roadmap aligned with business priorities and digital strategy.

    Initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and close projects and programs.

    Govern the prioritization and execution of the roadmap by assessing process, capability, technology and organizational gaps.

    Assess, prioritize, and govern automation and AI opportunities based on business value, feasibility, risk, and strategic alignment.

    Support the development, testing, and deployment of digitalization and AI solutions while ensuring compliance with company governance, security, and data policies.


Stakeholder Management 

    Partner with process owners and subject matter experts to define current-state issues, future-state requirements, and improvement solutions.

    Drives stakeholder collaboration to shape requirements and drive the delivery of effective, scalable digital solutions.

    Serve as a key liaison between IT and business users, ensuring alignment between technical solutions and operational requirements.

    Coordinate cross-functional teams to manage the end-to-end lifecycle of initiatives, from planning and sourcing through implementation and execution.

    Evaluate technology and solutions to ensure technical compliance and alignment with company standards and long-term strategy.


Change Management 

    Promote Lean principles and continuous improvement practices across the organization through coaching, training, and hands-on facilitation.

    Stay up to date with emerging technologies and use case; and act as a change agent to promote digital mindset, adoption of tools, and new ways of working.

    Champion a culture of continuous improvement by fostering collaboration, capability development, and knowledge sharing across the organization.

    Establish and maintain a network of improvement champions and key stakeholders to support continuous improvement and transformation efforts.



Candidate Profile

Education

    Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related discipline.


Experience

    Minimum 8 years of experience in business improvement, operational excellence, digital transformation, process optimization, automation, technology implementation, or related roles.

    Demonstrated experience leading or supporting business transformation initiatives involving digitalization, automation, workflow optimization, analytics, and AI-enabled solutions.

    Proven experience applying Lean, Continuous Improvement, or Operational Excellence methodologies to improve business processes and operational performance.

    Basic understanding and some hands-on experience with Generative AI, AI prompting and digital platforms, with the ability to identify and translate business opportunities into practical solutions.

    Experience facilitating cross-functional workshops, stakeholder engagement, and business requirement gathering.

    Experience managing multiple projects or initiatives simultaneously in a dynamic business environment.

    Experience within the Oil & Gas or Manufacturing industry, particularly in operations, production, offshore, or asset management environments, will be an added advantage but is not required.


Technical & Professional Skills

    Strong understanding of business process improvement, Lean methodologies, process mapping, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), and root cause analysis.

    Strong project delivery methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and hybrid approaches.

    Good understanding of digital technologies, enterprise platforms, automation tools, Generative AI, and emerging AI solutions, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value.

    Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess business challenges, evaluate opportunities, and develop practical improvement solutions.

    Ability to work independently, lead cross-functional initiatives, and manage competing priorities in a structured and outcome-oriented manner.

The Business Transformation Lead role is responsible for driving business performance improvement through the application of Lean methodologies, digital transformation, automation, and AI solutions. Acting as a bridge between business and technology teams, the role identifies improvement opportunities, leads transformation initiatives, facilitates stakeholder alignment, and promotes a culture of continuous improvement and digital adoption to deliver measurable business outcomes.

The role reports to the Head of Business Improvement and co-owns the Business Improvement and Digital Transformation Roadmap, translating strategic improvement objectives into tangible business outcomes and sustainable capability development across the organization.
