Within TotalEnergies, the OneTech Branch brings together all the technical and R&D expertise from the different divisions (Exploration & Production, Refining Chemicals, Marketing & Services, and Gas, Renewables & Power). Activities


As a Post-Doc Engineer Developing Steam Cracker Decarbonisation Roadmaps into an integrated system-level platform for the Normandy Refinery, you will be based in Pau and will work on tools for creating and optimising decarbonisation roadmaps for steam crackers.

Your main missions will be to deliver decarbonisation roadmaps to Top mangement. 

The Post-Doc will conduct the following activities: 

- Model steam cracker units (incl. utilities), 

- Investigate and model alternative technologies to target Near Zero Emissions, 

- Run probabilistic economic scenarios, 

- Generate an extensive decarbonization pathway database, 

- Identify robust pathways/roadmaps reliable under multiple uncertain market scenarios, 

- Display results in a comprehensive manner for sensibility analysis and decision-making.


Candidate Profile

As a Post-Doc Engineer Optimisation Decarbonization Roadmaps for Steam Cracker, you need to have the following skills: 


- Process knowledge of refining and petrochemicals 

- Modeling of steam cracker and decarbonization units aligned with NZEP decarbonization levers (electrification, energy efficiency, carbon capture, low carbon fuels, flare gas)

- Techno-economic assessments 

- Optimisation.

You need to have a PhD degree for less than 3 years 

You speak French and English.
