Context & Environment

Are you an experienced geophysics professional ready to shape the future of Malaysia’s subsurface developments?

TotalEnergies EP Malaysia is seeking a highly skilled Senior Geophysicist to drive seismic interpretation, hazard assessment, and integrated subsurface evaluation across our expanding operated and nonoperated portfolio. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring highquality reservoir characterization, safe drilling operations, and robust field development decisions.

Activities

Your Impact

As part of the Reservoir Development & Growth team of Subsurface department, you will:

  • Lead structural and seismic interpretation—faults, horizons, GRV assessments—to support geomodelling and volumetric analysis.
  • Perform seismic attribute studies to identify key geological features including sequence boundaries, channels, thief sands, and fault systems.
  • Conduct comprehensive shallow hazard assessments (shallow gas, incised channels, fault zones) to support safe rig and well trajectory planning.
  • Apply multiple timedepth conversion scenarios and integrate Quantitative Interpretation (QI) for improved reservoir distribution understanding.
  • Oversee contractor activities for seismic acquisition, processing, and inversion studies, ensuring compliance with company standards and readiness for downstream interpretation work.
  • Ensure strong technical engagement with PETRONAS MPM, JV partners, and OneTech to meet regulatory validation, FDP, MR, and sanction gate requirements.

Candidate Profile

What We Are Looking For

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • BSc in Geophysics and MSc in Petroleum Geoscience.
  • Minimum 15 years of geophysical interpretation experience.
  • Strong expertise across G&G disciplines, with solid working knowledge in petrophysics and reservoir engineering.
  • Skilled in data acquisition workflows and familiar with drilling and production operations.
  • Proficient with industrystandard G&G software and interpretation tools.
  • Proactive, collaborative, strong communicator, and effective at managing time and priorities.
