Context & Environment

In order to support the new technological ambition of the Company, the Near Zero Emission Plant (NZEP) Strategic Research and Technology Program (SRTP) has been created in 2025. NZEP has 4 departments: Deep Water (for FPSO), LNG, Power (for CCGT) and Cracker (Steamcrackers). NZEP is to develop integrated decarbonization technologies and solutions to move the Company mains CO2 emitters towards zero emissions. NZEP will propose and accelerate solutions for electrification, energy efficiency, flaring reduction and use of low-carbon fuels or hydrogen.

The Company has currently 9 steamcrackers, in Europe, Middle-East, North America and Asia. Each has its own specificities in terms of integrability with other assets, typology and geography.

The Cracker team will orchestrate different technologies in order to propose for each asset a decarbonation roadmap, with a prioritization based on the business ambition.
