TotalEnergies Malaysia is on the lookout for a strategic and experienced Country Security Officer (CSO) to lead and elevate our security operations across onshore, offshore and maritime operations.

This isn’t just another job — it’s a mission-critical leadership opportunity where your expertise will directly shape the safety, resilience, and continuity of our operations. You’ll work hand-in-hand with senior leadership, including the Managing Director & Country Chair, and play a pivotal role in aligning our security strategy with both local authorities and TotalEnergies’ global standards.

Activities

What You Will Be Doing:

As our CSO, you’ll be the cornerstone of our security operations and some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and implementing the Security Management System (SeMS) and operational security plans.
  • Leading Security Risk Assessments (SRAs) and driving mitigation strategies.
  • Ensuring full compliance with Malaysian regulations and TotalEnergies’ internal policies.
  • Overseeing security across offshore platforms, warehouses, and offices.
  • Managing maritime security and liaising with relevant authorities.
  • Supporting operational teams and participating in Joint Venture (JV) meetings.
  • Coordinating training, drills, and emergency response simulations.
  • Handling gazettement applications with the Office of the Chief Government Security Officer (CGSO).
  • Reporting local security developments to regional and global stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

What We Are Looking For:

Must-Haves:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Risk Management, Maritime Studies, or a related field.
  • 8–10 years of hands-on experience in security operations, especially in offshore and maritime environments.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage SeMS and conduct SRAs.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian regulatory frameworks and gazettement processes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Professional certifications such as CPP, MSO, or equivalent.
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry, particularly in upstream operations.
  • Familiarity with global security standards, including TotalEnergies' internal requirements and best practices.
