Potentially, you will be given the opportunity to gain further insight to our business as an intern or in connection with your Bachelor or Master Thesis. 

 

You will be part of a team of five cost controllers. Your responsibilities will be to perform constant cost control, ensuring accurate reflection of cost and activity reporting through standardized processes to support and challenge business decision making. You will assist the business with facilitating the “Request for Service” process that ensures optimal internal allocation of cost within our customers (TotalEnergies affiliates). You will also support the team in the timely preparation of reporting, closing forecasts and budget input.  

  

As a student assistant, you will have the opportunity to work with and learn from highly skilled colleagues, with strong focus on providing high quality and commercially integrated advice to our internationally orientated business. In the team, you will be provided with an in-depth insight into the everyday work life interfacing with a multitude of stakeholders. 

 

Working hours will be approximately 15-20 weekly, with great flexibility in the planning. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Overall, you will assist the Cost Controlling team in the below areas: 

  • Monthly dashboard updates in PowerBI and continuous maintenance of the tool
  • Support the team in preparing costs analyses and internal performance reporting, forecasts and budgets to the respective divisions
  • Support digital initiatives to optimize and automize our finance processes 
  • Liaise with the business owners to ensure timely opening of RFS (Request for Services) and follow-up and chase customers, monitor actual realization and propose amendments
  • Follow-up on employees’ time-writing and take follow-up actions when time sheets are missing
  • Cost control for external and internal expenditures. Monitor commitments, budget availability, accruals estimate, contract compliance, vendor invoice check and analytical coding in SAP
  • Ensure that inquiries from customers and from internal departments are dealt with.

Candidate Profile

Who are we looking for?

Ideally, you have an outgoing personality that enhances team collaboration and fosters a positive work environment. You are currently enrolled at a university with a minimum of two years left on your studies, and we expect your study to be within Finance or Business area. 

 

Your background 

  • Being enrolled in a Bachelor/Master program is a requirement
  • Proficiency in oral and written English
  • Knowledge of MS Excel, Power BI 
  • Experience in SAP (FI-CO, BW) is an advantage
  • Strong interest in data analysis and systems 
  • Fine eye for detail
  • Proactive, willing to learn and develop
