Candidate Profile

  • Education: BSc. / B. Eng. in Engineering discipline Mechanical, Materials/ Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering or equivalent. 
  • Professional Experience (number of years): 5-10years experience in Inspection or Asset Integrity management in the oil industry 
  • Certification: By a recognized body (i.e. CSWIP/ API/ ASNT/ AWS) in plant and/or welding inspection would be an advantage 
  • Good knowledge RBI, Corrosion Prevention & Control, NDT Techniques, Metallurgy, Oil & Gas production Facilities, API RP 510, 570, 580, 579, 576, 571 & ASME VIII, Relevant Company Rules and General Specifications 
  • Computer Literacy (SAP) and good communication skills (report writing) 
  • In-depth knowledge and/or experience in NDT techniques. 

Activities

  • Participate on site to the implementation of the assets integrity plan (inspection plans) 
  • Plan onsite execution of statutory and non-statutory inspections to ensure that the physical and functional integrity of the production assets comply with company rules, standards and legislative requirements as they apply but not limited to: piping, pressure vessels, PSV’s, pipelines, structures and lifting equipment. 
  • Liaise with PHC method involved in Shutdown inspection scope of work definition 
  • Coordinate, supervise and report planned inspection activities during plant shutdowns or non-shut down campaigns 
  • Checks condition of safety relief valves and report findings to Inspection Operation/Method, witness pressure setting after report and during any re-calibration campaign 
  • Witness pressure tests on pressurized equipment after repairs and load tests on lifting equipment as required. 
  • Upon failures of mechanical equipment, inspects materials and report findings to Offshore Installation Manager and/or Inspection Operation/Methods. 
  • Inspects maintenance and construction projects work carried out in the field to ensure proper documentation and that established practices and procedures are followed for welding, painting, installations, fabrications as assigned or according the ITP. 
  • Job execution follow-up by third party contractors during statutory inspection / recertification on site (lifting equipment, gas cylinder) Supervises contracted NDT, underwater survey contractor, rope access technicians. 
  • Supervises (or conducts with Contractor) NDT tests (dye penetrant, magnetic particles, ultrasonic thickness measurements etc.) on mechanical equipment and pressurized static equipment according to instructions/written scheme of examination from Inspection Operations/ Methods. 
  • Maintains inspection instruments and tools in a clean and operational condition. 
  • Writes preliminary reports on inspections and NDT tests, highlighting abnormalities with possible repair recommendations and passes to Inspection Operation & Methods team for further analysis and interpretations. 
  • Maintains various records in the computerized systems (SAP & RBI software), updating test results and other data as required 
  • Propose temporary or permanent repair for review and approval by inspection manager and site management before implementation 
  • Audits site contractors during inspection and construction activities ensuring compliance to company procedures

  • Onshore Environment with a rotation status of 4 weeks on- and 4 weeks off 
  • Manage inspection activities, availability of inspection tools, availability of NDT technician(s) on site 
  • Onshore (about 100 km from Port Harcourt Office Base) 

Additional Information

  • Manage inspection activities for assets.

     - Provide technical support in assuring integrity of static and pressurized equipment in asset. 

    - Follow-up Inspection and Monitoring activities provide to anticipate and/or to control corrosion

     Availability of inspection tools. (corrosion data logger, UT sets, Borescopes, Elcometers etc) 

     Availability of NDT technician(s) with rope access capabilities on site

  • Interface: 

           - Liaise with site teams (Maintenance, ECP, HSE, Logistics, Production) 

           - Liaise with PHC Inspection methods (All inspection trades, operation, method, corrosion, pipeline, SAP Support) 

           - External Inspection Contractors (Rope-access, subsea, 3rd Party lifting equipment, advanced NDT)

HSE:

  • Familiarize self with TEPNG emergency procedures, carry out assigned responsibilities safely and report any incident, unsafe act or operation 
  • Follow-up all personnel under his / her supervision are well trained and aware of their HSE responsibilities with continuous monitoring to check compliance.
