Context & Environment

To support our Network department operations while performing the job activities, the Territory Manager will be working in an environment that:

  • Is part of a very competitive environment: The retail market has changed significantly during the past years.
  • Participates in a semi-regulated market, whereby law it is forbidden to interfere in the station’s management.
  • Has Key Interfaces: Non-Fuels (SFS), Technical Services, HSEQ, Legal, Sales Admin, Dispatch, etc. 
  • Requires the following physical demands but not limited to extensive driving, working under pressure, and long sitting hours. In some cases, kneeling. 
  • Require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when visiting projects.
  • Is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment (office and service station environment). 
  • Occasionally, travel outside Puerto Rico (PR) can be required for training and/or special project assignments.
  • Ensures achievement of the monthly sales targets (volumes, GMVC, rents, fixed costs, receivables, capital employed, etc.).
  • Renew the station’s contracts and optimize the station’s portfolio. 
  • Ensures that all retail practices are implemented within the target.
  • Obtains, analyzes, and maintains databases on the network market.
  • Observes and applies TotalEnergies Marketing PR Corp. Quality Policy & HSE Charter.
  • Creates a positive work environment.
  • The position’s incumbent will have access to confidential information. 
  • Ensures that all retail practices are implemented within the target.


Activities

The Territory Manager will be working to meet the department’s milestones by:


Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ)


  •      Maintain awareness of health, safety, and environmental hazards and risks.
  •      Make sure all golden rules are complied with.
  •      Check that all safety equipment is always present (extinguishers...).
  •      Carry out stock controls to check product quality and avoid spillages.
  •      Effective implementation of all Environmental & Controls Policies.
  •      Ensure Superior Site Operations and Customer Service Standards.
  •      HACCP: - Integrate hygiene controls into periodic inspections and report deviation.
 

Contracts


  •       Manage Retailer/Dealer relationships to ensure that company interests are protected.
  •       Build and sustain a mutually beneficial relationship with dealers.
  •    Responsible for identifying and taking immediate action when dealers deviate from the contract.
  •     Responsible for completing the qualification process once a new dealer candidate is identified.
  •       Renew dealer contracts and leases on time.
  •     Enforce, monitor, and follow up with dealers to ensure guarantee bonds and insurance policies are in place and not expired.
  •      Perform motor fuel reconciliation and inspections as required.
  •      Ensure stations' hours of operation comply with dealer’s agreements.
  •     Communicate immediately to management all relevant information concerning dealers' actions that could potentially have a negative impact on company operations.
  •      Stay abreast of Petroleum laws and regulations, (Ex. DACO, PMPA).


Profitability


  •     Responsible for annual objectives on fuel sales and rent income, foll. The objectives must be followed on a daily and monthly basis.
  •       Build action plans to increase sales and incomes.
  •       Make sure his/her portfolio profitability is constantly improving.
  •        Understand Dealer Profit and Loss (P&L).
  •       Ensure Site Profitability is Maximized
  •       Conduct a price survey of lubes and of fuels as required via the internal dedicated platforms.
  •        Provide Dealer Counseling to Ensure Site Competitiveness — As necessary.
  •        In charge of money collection and debt recovery daily.
  •        Ensure credit terms and payment terms are met by the dealer or take necessary actions to enforce company policies.
  •    Manage and coordinate effective internal & external interfaces to maximize business performance and capitalize on market opportunities such as but not limited to Salesforce and Tempo.
  •      Seek that all sites accept the following method of payment: credit & debit cards, fleet & prepaid TotalEnergies cards.
  •       Responsible for the implementation and execution of all company plans & promotions.
  •        Collect and Report C-Store Sales before the 10th day of each month to Non-Fuel Manager
  •       Follow-up on all maintenance and repairs for the sites.

Development


  •       Identify the potential of existing sites for new projects.
  •       Keep Management informed of all activities related to retailers and the retail market.
  •       Identify potential high-potential sites to brand TotalEnergies.


Other


  •        Other tasks as assigned by management.


Candidate Profile

The requirements for this position are as follows:

  • Degree or significant experience in the disciplines of strategic management, sales, marketing, and administration.
  • Working knowledge and experience in retail network, commercial, and marketing activities.
  • Possess good communication skills including interpersonal skills. Team Building skills.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish, written and spoken.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Know and Observe TotalEnergies Quality Policy & HSE Charter.
  • Possess a valid PR driver’s license.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
