Context & Environment

All the JVs in Abu Dhabi operate in a very sensitive political and contractual context and in a highly competitive environment (presence of other Majors, including 8 international shareholders in ADNOC Offshore).

Under the framework of TotalEnergies’ Asset Management in the conventional role of a Shareholder, supplemented by TotalEnergies’ Leadership role in the new ADNOC Offshore concessions (which contributes currently to 85 kb/d to the Group SEC production), the present function plays a very important role of asset management and information, assessment and "broker" of TotalEnergies’ technical assistance and know-how transfer to ADNOC Offshore.

The job holder handles a complex and challenging stream of requirements originating from a non-operated JV and his capacity to fulfill its expectations contributes to advance the strategic position of TotalEnergies within the region (production, reserves and investments)

The position is located in the multicultural business landscape of Abu Dhabi; it is supported by TEP UAE Geosciences and Business Development teams and by dedicated support from the HQ through a sole cost budget.

Activities

ADNOC Offshore JV management:

- Prepares the technical discussion of TotalEnergies shareholder role in Abu Dhabi for ADNOC Offshore with respect to the main local stakeholders and other shareholders (ADNOC, JODCO, ENI, CNPC, FALCON)

- Prepares the OPCO technical committees to support the SVP Offshore Oil Assets and VP Offshore Oil Assets JV

- Contributes to deliver superior value for TotalEnergies from ADNOC Offshore concessions, in line with TotalEnergies’ Profitability Roadmap. Supports the implementation of the profitability initiatives, as per the allocated responsibilities, and assesses the resulting impacts

- Prepares technical dossiers related to ADNOC Offshore major investment decisions

- Supports the preparation of ADNOC Offshore data and reports for TotalEnergies Corporate exercises e.g. PRIME, PDC, Budget and LTP

- Acts as ADNOC Offshore Tender Committee company representative and coordinates the contracting approval requests submitted by ADNOC Offshore in accordance with Delegation of Authority

- Acts as ADNOC Offshore Audit committee company representative and assists the decision making process of the OPCO board in respect to risk management and internal control, internal and external audit, and compliance including the following

- Effectiveness of OPCO corporate governance internal control and risk management system

- Independence, qualification and performance of OPCO’s internal audit functions

- Financial reporting process and the integrity of the financial statements

Implementation of TotalEnergies Asset Leader role

- Supports the SVP Offshore Oil Assets and VP Offshore Oil Assets JV, in the fulfillment of TotalEnergies' obligations as per the Master Technology Agreement and as Asset Leader; he/she contributes in particular to the thoroughness of the company's responses to ADNOC Offshore requests and to the execution of the Asset Leader Performance Contract.

Candidate Profile

Engineer (at least 10 years of experience) with some knowledge of various fields of petroleum activities related to offshore operations in the fields of geosciences, drilling, field operations or projects. A first experience of team management is a plus.

Good communication skills (verbal and written), good sense of organization, fluency in Arabic and English languages.

Compatibility with business habits prevailing in the Middle East: patience, humility, persistence/tenacity (to get things done).

Additional Information

TotalEnergies is Shareholder in two of the new concessions operated by ADNOC Offshore since March 2018, with an interest of 20% in Umm Shaif/Nasr concession and 5% in the Lower Zakum concession. 

- TotalEnergies has been entrusted the responsibility of Asset Leader on the Umm Shaif/Nasr concession. The role of TotalEnergies as Asset Leader is to support ADNOC Offshore in all technical and technology-related activities, to review the OPCO's performance and to provide accordingly feedback and guidance to both TotalEnergies and ADNOC. This is a very exposed and visible position with direct impact on the financial performance through the Asset Leader Fee and the image of TotalEnergies in UAE.

- Very high level of complexity of offshore operations and developments. World 1st co-development of oil rim and gas cap ongoing on Umm Shaif field where TotalEnergies know how and expertise as Asset Lead is at stake.
