Activities

Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective project commissioning and operations.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and report HSE incidents.
  • Manage site documentation and project historical data.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs with third-party providers.
  • Perform routine annual maintenance, including QA/QC inspections and predictive maintenance.
  • Assist with project planning, troubleshooting, and equipment evaluation.
  • Analyze site performance and implement improvement plans.
  • Collaborate on equipment failure analysis and prevention methods.
  • Manage budgets and maintain profit margins.
  • Ensure compliance with NERC, ISO, OSHA, and environmental standards.
  • Oversee site inventory and maintain proper stock levels.
  • Interface with Operations Support and Control Room Manager on plant operations.
  • Train and mentor junior staff, focusing on retention and development.
  • Create and maintain emergency response schedules.
  • Lead daily and weekly contractor/owner meetings.
  • Validate contractor schedules, payments, and change requests.
  • Ensure environmental compliance and review construction activities.
  • Maintain project schedules and communicate changes.
  • Build relationships with the community and stakeholders.
  • Liaise with property owners and administer solar project leases and easements.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience. 
  • Experience:
    • Six years of related construction or project management or energy industry experience including three years supervisory management responsibilities.
    • Ability to work at our Teague, TX solar site Monday - Friday. 
  • Skills:
    • Knowledge in new renewable/alternative energy power projects preferred. 
    • Microsoft Office Skills at an intermediate level. 
    • Ability to read and understand construction drawings. 
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills. 
    • Effective interpersonal skills and leadership abilities. 
    • Effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. 
    • Project/Construction management skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently. 
    • The ability to collaborate effectively with people of diverse backgrounds. 
    • Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without an accommodation.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Ability to operate a motor vehicle and possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
    • Ability to travel with limited advance notice and to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and nights. 
    • Must live or be willing to relocate to within one hour of the assigned power plant.
