Context & Environment

AGUP project environment:

  • Strategic and transformational multi energies project, with high visibility and challenging subsurface and development features
  • Large complex multi-projects being run in parallel with very different drivers and challenging timelines.
  • Unstable political situation in country and security issues seen as risk/challenges for production activities
  • New petroleum basin and new country conditions to operate, several steep learning curves. New affiliate organization and workflows to build and important margin to influence the future of Total Energies in Iraq.
  • On-shore project with important levers for reservoir and subsurface to deliver production objectives.
  • Large uncertainties of initial Phase 1 and 2 subsurface models due to old and incomplete data (i.e. fluid composition, well production test, well integrity….)
  • Accelerated and challenging affiliate ramp-up for fast-track projects, which are at various development stages.

Interfaces and gradual transfer of activities between HQ and the affiliate.

Activities

Accountabilities

The objective for the senior reservoir engineer is to understand the reservoirs in Ratawi via production information, data analysis or data synthesis to help complete the Ratawi project on schedule with the least number of uncertainties.  The senior reservoir engineer will be key in to delivering the AGUP project by

Follow-up of monitoring plan/data acquisition plan and water injection pilots deployment

Being responsible for following production and delivering well test validations, prosper model updates and general data synthesis, which are key to our understanding of the field.

Contribute to the specialty studies necessary for the development of the Reservoir simulation and perform designs and interpretations Being responsible for PBU design and interpretation of legacy and new wells as well as “spot” dynamic simulations using phenomenological models with IX, Depletion with MBAL…).

Contribute to planning all the data acquisition necessary to understand the dynamic behavior of the reservoirs, in collaboration with OT.

Ensure successful well preparation for drilling (from target definition to SOR) of both the producers and injectors by providing reservoir input to the decision process at all stages.

Follow-up during drilling and collecting and analyzing any new data coming from the three drilling rigs.

Contribute to RMP & Premonit redaction.

Deliver internal reservoir evaluations, documentation, studies and production forecast for Phase 1

Follow-up of monitoring plan/data acquisition plan and water injection pilots deployment

    Coach junior engineers

Share information and experiences on reservoir matters with other entity of TEEPRH

Activities

Respect and promote the TotalEnergies group H3SE and sustainability rules and culture. Lead by example to encourage team members and colleagues to comply and contribute.

The Sr. RE is a key person for the understanding of each reservoir within the Ratawi field both to optimize production and to optimize wells for phase 1 and 2.

Ensure there are timely updates of well models, analysis and understating with arrival of data, from labs, intervention or drilling.

Ensure timely input from reservoir to any data acquisition or monitoring requirement of either legacy wells or drilling of new wells.

Follow drilling and collection of any new data resulting from that.  Ensure any new data is appropriately stored and analyzed.

Define data acquisition necessary to better understand the dynamic behavior of the reservoirs, in collaboration with OT.

Contribute to the specialty studies necessary for the development of the Reservoir simulation and perform designs and interpretations.

To seek optimization and savings all along the distinct phases of the project. To focus on costs without impairing QHSE objectives.

To foster an innovative and engaging environment for maturing solutions while backing up decisions.

To promote lean and agile leadership, to participate actively in the areas of engagement, meetings and decision process.

To be involved in reference databases creation and support (T-more, Power BI…)

To help plan and supervise the data analysis in Iraq or HQ.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications/Experience required

  Studies: Engineering graduate.

Professional Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in reservoir engineering, including at least 3-6 years experience in a subsidiary and in reservoir operations: including well performance (Prosper, Gap), well testing/PTA (PIE, Saphir), sampling, ESP design

Experience in dynamic simulation (IX, Eclipse, MBal) and 2G & R studies.

Extensive knowledge of oil and Gas process and construction practices

Ability to develop good relationships within the internal departments of TTEEPRH, Projects teams and OT..

Ability to understand, explain and present complex technical material and to convince internal stakeholders.

Soft skills: Mindset project, anticipation, and agility to adapt workstream, ability to listen, proactive behavior, and sometimes resilience.

Team player and ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural team.

Languages:  fluent in English, French and Arabic are a plus.

Additional Information

Note: This position is open to Iraqi nationals only.

Priority will be given to candidates from Basra.

Applications from non-Iraqi nationals will not be considered.

TotalEnergies values diversity, promotes individual growth and offers equal opportunity careers.

The multi energy project in Iraq is the first transition large project of TTE. The operated asset consists of Gas Growth Integrated Project (GGIP) including Ratawi Associated Gas Upstream Project (AGUP) Phase 1 and 2, Gas Midstream Project (GMP), Water Intake Project (WIP) and Solar. AGUP project is the full development of Ratawi giant field (STOOIP>10 Gbo, Reserves 1.8 Gbo)
