Context & Environment

Are you a seasoned reservoir engineering professional ready to shape the future of Malaysia’s upstream developments?

TotalEnergies EP Malaysia is seeking a highly skilled Senior Reservoir Engineer to lead dynamic modelling, reserves evaluation, and field development planning across a fastgrowing and technically challenging subsurface portfolio. You will directly influence longterm asset performance, reserves maturation, and major development decisions across operated and nonoperated PSCs.

Activities

Your Impact

As a key technical contributor within the Reservoir Development & Growth team, you will:

  • Integrate geology, geophysics, petrophysics, and engineering data to develop robust dynamic reservoir models and reduce subsurface uncertainty.
  • Maintain and update 3D dynamic models using new data, reservoir behaviour, and multiscenario reservoir simulations.
  • Lead reserves assessment (500–800 Mboe) and mature opportunities through annual reserves reporting.
  • Establish and mature Field Development Plans (FDP) and Asset Area Development Plans, ensuring strong integration with other disciplines.
  • Plan and supervise acquisition of fluid and pressure data, and analyse results for improved reservoir management.
  • Deliver production forecasts, longterm production planning, and inputs for CAPEX/OPEX budget cycles.
  • Engage with Operations Teams, JV partners, and PETRONAS MPM to meet regulatory validation and sanction gate requirements (FDP MR, ARPR, AMIR).

Candidate Profile

What We Are Looking For

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • University Degree (BSc or Master) in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in reservoir engineering, with strong regional exposure to Malaysia’s subsurface and field development practices.
  • Deep knowledge of reservoir mechanics, rock/fluid properties, flow dynamics, and dynamic modelling.
  • Extensive handson experience with reservoir engineering software tools.
  • Strong ability to synthesize multidisciplinary datasets into actionable engineering insights.
  • Strong analytical ability, sound decisionmaking, and proactive problemsolving.

Additional Information

TotalEnergies values diversity, promotes individual growth and offers equal opportunity careers.

Why TotalEnergies?

Join a fastgrowing affiliate operating in a dynamic environment of multiple PSCs, new strategic partnerships, and evolving regulatory expectations. You will be at the forefront of major development phases including field startups, FDP maturation, postdrill assessments, and multiblock expansion, while contributing to safe, efficient, and technically robust subsurface decisions.
