Context & Environment

The Senior Benefits Analyst will support the administration and implementation of benefits plans for the US based TotalEnergies Affiliates Health and Welfare Program. This position receives a high volume of telephone calls and emails from employees requesting benefits information and assistance in resolving escalated benefit issues that require coordination with the various benefits vendors.

This position is located at TotalEnergies Tower in Houston, Tx.

Activities

This role will provide support to active employees in scope and retirees enrolled in the Health and Welfare Program and various vendors who support the program, ensuring timely resolution of participant benefit plan and administration issues. Other responsibilities include:

  • Facilitate year-end reconciliations with outsourcing provider. 
  • Secondary support responsibility for providing guidance and issue resolution to HR site location contacts for employees enrolled in the TotalEnergies Affiliates Health and Welfare Program.
  • Support the annual enrollment communications campaign and ongoing and ad-hoc employee benefits related communications for active employees; develop retiree communications in-house Retiree Health Plan. 
  • Compile and communicate retiree medical and life insurance counts and documentation for Retiree Welfare Plan Valuation and compiles health plan counts for Form 5500 filings on an annual basis.
  • Support the administration of the Long-Term Disability program for all employees to ensure compliance with Company policies. Assist all affiliate HR contacts at site locations with disability issues, as requested. 
  • Coordinate and compiles data for Total Rewards Statement on an annual basis. 
  • Complete annual benefit surveys for benchmarking benefit plans against competitors.
  • Update Summary Benefit Plan Descriptions, Summary of Benefit Coverage Notices and New Hire Orientation materials for health and welfare plan on an annual basis.
  • Coordinate and verify the Form 1095 reporting for the Affordable Care Act on an annual basis.

Candidate Profile

Ideal Education & Experience Requirements:


Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a HR or business-related discipline required 
  • 3+ years' experience with health and welfare administration preferred

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint and UKG required 
  • Strong organizational, and communications skills 
  • Strong customer-service orientation, detail-orientation and multi-tasking abilities on multiple projects. 
  • Good knowledge of legislation affecting benefit plans (ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, Section 125 and ACA requirements)
